MARAUDERS BACK IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
The Maryland Marauders are headed back to Orlando, FL. The Marauders earned a spot in the National Championship Game by defeating the Michigan Admirals 10-0 Saturday October 29th. We are the NAFL 2 2004 champs, and looking forward to be the 2005 NAFL 2 Champs, says President/CEO Gary Rice. We have all the components of a championship team since day one. The Marauders will face the West Sound Saints from the state of Washington, at the Wide World of Sports Complex in Disney, November 12th 5:00 PM.
The regular season ended with a record of 7-3,lost a tuff playoff road game agaisnt the Philadelphia Scorpions 26-34. Then bounced back in tier 2, defeated DC Explosions, Cumberland Valley Cardinals(PA),Hudson County Stars(NJ),and the Admirls in the regional game.
Marauders Find A Home In Seat Pleasant
Seat Pleasant Mayor Eugene W. Grant hosted a press conference to announce a partnership agreement between the City of Seat Pleasant and the Maryland Marauders Minor League Football team. The Press Conference was held at Seat Pleasant City Hall on Thursday, February 24, 2005 at 10:00 AM. The Marauders, the 2004 Champions of the North American Football League 2 (NAFL), signed with the City to become the official Football team for the City of Seat Pleasant: A City of Excellence. Marauders Place Six On All-American Team
Upper Marlboro, MD January 7, 2005: Six players from the 2004 NAFL2 Champion Maryland Marauders were named to the Minor League Football News Eastern Regional All-American Team. There was one offensive player and five defensive players honored. James Battle QB, Micheal Balogun MLB, Sean Chisley OLB, Roguell Blue DT, Will Purvis DE, David Wingate DE. Assistant Head Coach of the NAFL2 Champion Maryland Marauders was named Mid-East Assistant Coach Of The Year for 2004 by the Minor League Football News. in his first season as a coach had a remarkable season in the North American Football Leagues Eastern Conference.
