Sundevils Dan Cope and Jack Melton joined other San Diego Athletes at the Hall of Champions on Wednesday, November 11 to sign their letters of intent to play baseball and continue their education next year.  We are so proud of you boys!!

Mt. Carmel - All-Palomar League and All-CIF San Diego Section teams. Led the Palomar League in stolen bases was the Sundevils' Offensive Player of the Year in 2007 and Player of the Year in 2008. Terrence was a nominee for the Athlete of the Year award. He played in the Northern California vs. Southern California All-Star game after his senior season and also was invited to and participated in the Lasorda Elite Games.

Oklahoma Baptist, then coached by Bobby Cox, was the #2 ranked team in the nation for four straight weeks in 2008. Keith led the Bison to the SAC Championship game to put them in the regional tournament that year. He graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, emphasis in strength and conditioning.

Jake Epstein - Class of 1996

Jake graduated from Cal State Fullerton, earning a degree in Communications and Marketing. His baseball experience includes four years of Division I college baseball (Missouri, Cal State Fullerton), earning all-conference honors in both the Big 12 and West Coast Conferences. His collegiate career was highlighted by leading the power-dominant Big 12 Conference in home runs (15) and RBIs (55) as a sophomore at the University of Missouri. He holds the Big 12 record for the longest home run hit, 576', in a Big 12 conference championship game (1998 in Oklahoma City).

Jake played one season in the Anaheim Angels organization, batting .336 and leading his team in several major offensive categories.



Matt Miller
Matt Miller - Class of 1991

Matt was a three year starter at catcher and 3 time All-Palomar League selection, also receiving 2nd team All-CIF honors in his junior and senior seasons. He was the starting catcher for the 29-2 1989 C.I.F. champions as a sophomore. Matt was also a two year starting quarterback who still holds almost every passing record at Mt.Carmel 20 years later.

He played both sports for two years at Texas A&M, playing for the #1 seed Aggies in the 1993 College World Series. Matt then transferred to Kansas State University and became an All-American Quarterback and led Kansas State to their first Top 10 finish in football (#6) in 1995. He also excelled on the baseball diamond for the Wildcats, twice earning All-Big Eight honors and leading Kansas State in batting average and Home Runs his sophomore season. Matt had a school record 29 game hit streak at K-State and finished 3rd in the entire Big 8 conference in hitting the same year Oklahoma won the National title.

As quarterback, Matt led K-State to its first 10 win season and first top 10 finish in school history in 1995. Matt was a finalist for the Davey O'Brien Award after setting nearly most every single season K-State passing record at the time. Also an outstanding baseball player for the Wildcats, leading K-State in hitting with .318 average in 1994 to earn second team All-Big Eight honors... Was listed as one of the top 25 quarterbacks in the nation as a senior at Mount Carmel High School in San Diego, Calif... Named the California High School Athlete of the Year in 1990.

He then went on to become an Assistant Coach for Bill Snyder for 10 years with the football program coaching Quarterbacks and Tight Ends.
