Welcome Coach Johnson as the new Varsity Head Coach!  He has been with the MC program for several years as a Varsity Assistant and hitting coach, and will now lead the program.  Coach Keith Johnson graduated from Mt. Carmel High School and was recognized as All-San Diego County All-Academic Team in 2004.  He attended San Diego Mesa College in 2006, where he was coached by Kevin Hazlett.  He was awarded All-Pacific Coast Conference Honorable Mention in both his freshman and sophomore years.  Keith played two seasons at Oklahoma Baptist, coached by Bobby Cox, in 2007 and 2008, on athletic and academic scholarships.  Oklahoma Baptist was the #2 ranked team in the nation for four straight weeks in 2008.  That year, Keith led the Bison to the SAC Championship game to put them in the regional tournament.  During the Regional Tournament, Keith hit a game winning home run against Wayland Baptist, then ranked #18 nationally.  He graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University in May of 2008 with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, emphasis in strength and conditioning.

Jeff Johnson - Assistant Varsity Coach

Jeff has spent numerous seasons coaching travel baseball here in Rancho Penasquitos.  Aside from Coach Kyle and Coach Keith, many players coached by Coach Johnson have moved on to play at the collegiate and professional levels.

Jeff brings a multitude of coaching experience to the program and is a great communicator with both young men and adults alike.  Currently, Coach Johnson is working with the San Diego Deacons, a travel ball program in San Deigo.  He is entering his 16th year of coaching.
