U14 - Fall 2005 to Spring 2006

The MetroStars finished the Spring 2006 season of NCSL Division 2 with a 5-2-2 record, finishing in 2nd place which resulted in them moving up to NCSL’s Division 1 bracket for the Fall 2006 as U15s.

Great Season MetroStars!


Below are some of the highlights from their U14 year:

2006 U14 STATE CUP This was the second year the boys participated in State Cup - Spring 2006. The first round (Round of 32) was against the Arlington Legend.
The boys played an outstanding game by controlling possession of the ball for the majority of the game. However with only scoring one goal out of several opportunities and Arlington coming back in the last seconds of the game to tie it, the boys went into overtime. After two ten-minute periods the game was still tied. It went to PKs and the boys were defeated 3:2 in PKs.

2006 VIRGINIAN SOCCER TOURNAMENT
The MetroStars participated in Premier Silver East bracket of The Virginian on May 27-29, 2006, hosted by the Springfield Youth Club. All preliminary games were held at the nice turf field at Washington Lee HS Field #1.

On Saturday, May 27, the MetroStars started the tournament by defeating the Stroudsburg ACPerugia Grifos (PA) 6:1. and then tied the SOCA Express (VA) 0:0. On Sunday, May 28, they faced the Vienna Redhawks (VA) and lost 2:0. Later on Sunday we finished the tournament by defeating the DSC Panthers 3:2 in a consolation match. The championship game was played on Monday, May 29, at Tyrrell Park Field #4. The SYC Gladiators won the tournament 1:0 against the BAC Bombers.

MSI’s 2006 MARCH MADNESS TOURNAMENT

The MetroStars participated in MSI’s March Madness tournament on March 25-26, 2006. The MetroStars played their first game and tied the Olney Arsenal 1:1 and then defeated the Victory Express, a U15 team from PA, 2:1. Then on Sunday the boys were once again in a position where they had to win to advance to the finals. They played the Pennine Utd White team from Ohio and lost 3:0. Pennine Utd White went on to win the tournament by defeating FC Frederick Premier 2:1.    CLICK HERE to visit the website for MSI's tournament. 2006 BIG TOE SPORTS CHESTERFIELD SPRING INVITATIONAL

The MetroStars participated in Chesterfield’s Big Toe’s 13th annual held on March 11-12, 2006. The boys faced the Northern Steel Stealth first and defeated them 2:0, then tied SOCA Express 1:1. Sunday the boys had to win to advance to the finals. They played Chesterfield United Premier and tied 1:1. Chesterfield went on to win the tournament by defeating VA CASL Elite 1:0. OSBOURN PARK INVITATIONAL 2006 - FINALIST


The MetroStars participated in Osbourn Park High School’s 5th Annual Yellow Jacket Soccer Invitational on March 4, 2006. The first game was against Great Falls Renegades which ended in a 1:1 tie, and then we tied the VISTA Tasmanian Devils 1:1, and defeated the Loudoun Rebellion 4:0. The final game, which did not count in our standings was against the SYCSA United which we won 5:1. CLICK HERE to view pictures taken by Tim Wallace at the tournament.



NCSL FALL 2005 SEASON
The MetroStars finished their season in Division 2 with a 4-1-1 record to finish in the 5th position. Below are some of the highlights from their U14 Fall '05 season:




MCSA FALL CLASSIC - CHAMPIONS

The MetroStars participated in our club’s Fall Classic Tournament held on November 19-20, 2005.

The MetroStars first game was against the BAC Bombers and they won 3:0; then they faced the SYA Copperheads and won 2:1. On Sunday the boys came out to play the ARL Legend and lost 2:0; then came back to play in the finals against the ARL Legend again and were victorious with a score of 3:0.

PWSI INVITATIONAL – FINALIST

The MCSA MetroStars participated in the U14 Boys Premier bracket of the 2005 PWSI Invitational held on September 3-4, 2005. This tournament was hosted by Prince William Soccer, Inc. (North). CLICK HERE to visit PWSI’s website.

The MetroStars won their first game on Sat, Sept 3, against the PWSI Courage ’91 Red 3:2; and then defeated the Virginia Rush Wolfpack 1:0. On Sun, Sept 4, the MetroStars played the Chantilly Clash and won 3:0. The last game in the round-robin style bracket was against the FC Richmond Magic. This game just happened to be for the championship. The MetroStars played hard but just could not get the ball in the back of the net. The FC Richmond Magic won 4:0. Good tournament MetroStars!

2005 SUN CUP – SEMI-FINALIST
The MetroStars participated in the Beach FC Sun Cup tournament on August 20-21, 2005, at Lake Taylor High School. The MetroStars played in the U14 Premier bracket where they faced some good competition. CLICK HERE to visit the Sun Cup’s website.   

On Saturday, August 20, they faced the big and talented CESA FC '91 from Ohio and lost 4:0; the boys continued on and defeated the Beach FC Gunners Black 2:1 to finish second in our bracket. On Sunday, August 21, we played the first place team in the other bracket, Beach FC United Red (another big and fast team) in a semi-final game. The MetroStars scored first, but the Beach FC United Red came back and tied up the game. The second half was a well fought game by both teams and in the last five minutes of play the beach team scored to win the game 2:1. It was a great game to watch! Good weekend MetroStars!



U13 - Fall 2004 to Spring 2005
The MetroStars finished the Spring 2005 season of NCSL Div. 3 with a 6-2-1 record. The MetroStars finished in 3rd place which resulted in them moving up to NCSL’s Division 2 bracket for the Fall 2005 at U14s.

Great Season MetroStars and good luck in Division 2 next season! Great U13 Year! Below are some of the highlights from their U13 year:

THE VIRGINIAN 2005 SEMI-FINALIST - The MCSA MetroStars participated in the 30th annual Virginia Soccer Tournament over the Memorial Day weekend, May 27-30, 2005, at the very nice complex of Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Virginia. CLICK HERE to visit the Virginian’s website. The MetroStars played in the Premier Silver division. The first game on Saturday, May 28, was against the Wyckoff Torpedoes Red (NJ) and we won 5:1, then the boys defeated the SWYA Comets (VA) 5:1. On Sunday, May 29, the MetroStars won their final preliminary game against BAC Bombers (VA) 4:1. The MetroStars were in the semi-finals where they faced the Stafford Revolution. As always the Revolution came out and gave us a good game. The MetroStars played well and the game went into double overtime. In the last minutes of the second overtime period the Stafford team put a nice shot in the upper 90 to win 3:2. The championship game was between Stafford Revolution, VA and the Vienna Redhawks, VA. The Redhawks won the tournament 3:0.

2005 STATE CUP - This is the first year the boys participated in State Cup. Over all . . . not a bad first State Cup! The MetroStars won their first State Cup Game on Sat, Apr 16, at 12:00 p.m. against the CSSC Armadas 2:1 at the Hampton Roads Soccer Complex in Virginia Beach. It was an exciting game with the MetroStars scoring first and then right before half time the Armadas put in a goal. The boys scored again in the second half and held them off for the victory. The MetroStars faced the defending state champions, MATT Crew, on Sat, May 7, at 4 p.m. at Hellwig Memorial Park #2 for the round of 16. The MetroStars put up a good fight against this Division 1 team. The Crew had us 1:0 at halftime from an own goal. The boys settled down and about ten minutes into the second half the MetroStars' Zack crossed a beautiful ball from the left to Sheridan who sunk it into the back of the net. The game was tied 1:1; however, the strong MATT team came back and score two goals to win 3:1. It was a well-played game and the MetroStars gave the Crew a good game.

2005 PWSI ICEBREAKER - The MetroStars participated in Prince William (PWSI) Soccer's 11th annual PWSI Icebreaker Tournament on March 19-20, 2005. The team was in the Prince William Cup Division. Their first game on Saturday, March 19, was against the Alexandria Titans and the boys won 3-0. Then they defeated the Seneca Hawks (MD) 1-0. On Sunday, March 20, the MetroStars faced the Samba TTP (CT) for the semi-finals. Both the Samba TTP and the MetroStars were undefeated with no goals allowed. It was an evenly matched game, both teams were playing hard, then the MetroStars received a red card and had to play a man down for the remainder of the first half and the game. The MetroStars never gave up and played even harder. The Samba capitalized on a break-away and won the game 1-0. The Samba TTP went on to defeat the winner in the “A” group, Beachside of CT, 2-0 to win the championship.


2005 CHESTERFIELD SPRING INVITATIONAL FINALIST - The MetroStars participated in Chesterfield's Soccer Club, Big Toe Sports and Snickers 12th annual Chesterfield Spring Invitational on March 12-13, 2005. This was the 12th year of them hosting this tournament which drew 370 teams from over 15 states.

The MetroStars participated in the Navy Division at Garland Dodd Park “Point of Rocks” in Chester, Virginia. The first game on Saturday, March 12, was against the SOCA Express. The boys started off the tournament a bit sluggish and lost to SOCA 3-1. The boys then faced the tough 92 TFC Navy from North Carolina and won 5-4.

(Saturday night the coaches played. It was the Chesterfield Coaches vs. The Rest of the World Coaches. It was a hard-played game, and enjoyed by all that played and attended. Congratulations to our “Rest of the World Coaches” for their victory over the Chesterfield Coaches of 2-1. Our coaches, Andy and Tim, participated and did a good job on the pitch. You MetroStars were represented well and would have been proud.)

On Sunday, March 13, the MetroStars defeated the VA CASL Elite 3-1, and with the 92 TFC Navy defeating the SOCA Express, the MetroStars were going to the championship game. The boys played a well-fought and tough championship game and were defeated 2-1 by the VA Rush Academy Black. It was a fun and good tournament for the MetroStars. The boys played awesome, especially since it was the first time the team was able to step on an outdoor field to practice.




The MetroStars finished the Fall 2004 season of NCSL Div. 3 with a 4-3-2 record to finish 6th. Below are some of the highlights from their U13 Fall '04 season:


2003 MCSA FALL CLASSIC FINALIST - The MetroStars participated in our club's annual tournament, the MCSA Fall Classic, held over the weekend of November 20-21, 2004, at Hellwig Memorial Park. The MetroStars won their first game 10-0 on Saturday, November 20, against the NSSSC North. Lightning. Then they defeated the Vienna Redhawks 3-1. Sunday the MetroStars faced the Seneca Hawks and won 4-1. The boys were in the championship game and faced the second place team, the Vienna Redhawks. The boys won the championship game 2-0.


2004 PVYSL COLUMBUS DAY INVITATIONAL CHAMPS - The MetroStars participated in Richmond's PVYSL Columbus Day Invitational "Gold Division" on October 9 & 10, 2004.

The MetroStars played their first game on Saturday, Oct. 9, against the New River Rapids Blue and won 2-0; then the MetroStars defeated the Kickers Central Red 1-0. On Sunday, Oct. 10, they played the Arlington Fusion and won 5-0. The MetroStars were going to the championship game and faced the winner of the "A" Group, SWYA Comets, and won 1-0.


2004 PATRIOT CUP CHAMPIONS - The MetroStars participated in the 26th Annual Labor Day Tournament – The Patriot Cup – on September 4-5, 2004. The MetroStars won their first game 1-0 on Sat, Sep 4, against the GUN Patriots; then the boys face the MCLN Raptors and won 5-0. On Sun, Sep 5, the MetroStars faced the SYC Alliance and won 4-0. In the Champion Division Final game the MetroStars defeated the FPYC United 5-0. The MetroStars demonstrated great team work in moving the ball down the field. Great Tournament!



2004 BEACH FC SUN CUP CHAMPIONS - The MetroStars won the championship in Beach FC’s 7th Annual Virginia Beach Sun Cup Soccer Tournament (Champions Bracket) held on August, 21-22, 2004.

The first game on Saturday was against the Virginia Rush Fusion and they won 9-0. Then MetroStars faced the SYC Gladiators and defeated them 2-0 in a shortened game due to afternoon thunder showers. On Sunday the boys played the CSSC Patriots and won 9-0. The championship game was against the Virginia Rush Fusion. The Fusion came to play some soccer. It was a good final game with the boys victorious with a 3-1 game. The MetroStars played some awesome soccer this weekend. U12 - Fall 2003 to Spring 2004

The MetroStars finished the Spring 2004 season of NCSL Div. 4 with an undefeated 7-0-2 record for 1st Place.

Great Season MetroStars!! Great U12 Year! The MetroStars will be moving up to NCSL's Division 3 bracket for the Fall 2004 season. Below are some of the highlights from the Spring '04 season:

THE VIRGINIAN 2004 - The MetroStars participated in THE VIRGINIAN 2004 tournament over the Memorial Day weekend, May 29-31, 2004. This tournament is hosted by the Springfield Youth Club and was their 29th annual tournament. The Virginian is a Class I tournament open to USYSA FIFA affiliated club/league teams and is an approved tournament of the Virginia Youth Soccer Association affiliated with USYSC, USSF, and FIFA. The MetroStars first game was on Saturday, May 29, at 11:45 a.m. against Chesterfield United (L 4-2); then they playaed at 5:15 p.m. against the SYC Gladiators (L 1-0). On Sunday, May 30, the MetroStars faced the Annandale Red Devils at 8:05 a.m. (L4-0); then for the final game on Sunday the boys played the SWYA Comets at 1:30 p.m. (W 2-1). Monday, May 31, at 10:30 a.m. the Championship Game was played at Occoquan Regional Park. The finalist were the Lehigh Valley from PA (1) and LSTS FC Barcelona, from NJ (2).

2004 PWSI ICEBREAKER CHAMPS! - The MetroStars are the CHAMPS of PWSI’s 10th annual Icebreaker Tournament (Red Division) which was held on the weekend of March 27-28, 2004. The boys played their first game against McLean Focus and won 3-1, with the one goal being scored on a misread pass-back to the goalie. The second game the MetroStars defeated the Richmond Strikers Black 3-0. Sunday the boys played against their rivals, the Stafford Revolution and tied 0-0. That was all the boys needed to do to make it to the championship game. They played in the finals against PWSI Patriots and won 3-0. It was an awesome and well-played tournament by the MetroStars. 2004 ST. PATRICKS DAY TOURNAMENT - The MetroStars participated in Stafford’s Saint Patrick’s Day Tournament over the weekend of March 13-14, 2004. The first game on Saturday was against the Stafford Speed (NCSL Division 3) and the boys tied the game 1 -1. It was a very well-played game by the boys. They were to play the North Stars, but they dropped out of the tournament and we received a forfeit. Sunday the MetroStars played the Great Falls Renegades (NCSL Division 1) and the boys lost 3 – 0. The MetroStars finished the Fall 2003 season of NCSL Div. 5 with 6-3-0 record to finish 3rd and move up to Division 4. Below are some of the highlights from the Fall '03 season:


2003 MCSA FALL CLASSIC FINALIST - The MetroStars finished second in the Royal Division of the MCSA Fall Classic tournament held on November 22-23, 2003. The first game the boys played a good game, but lost 2 to 0 against the Stafford Revolution. Then the boys faced the PWSI Patriots and won 1-0. With a 1 and 1 record, the MetroStars finished second in our flight and had to come back on Sunday to play the first place team in the B Flight, the Sterling Diplomats. The MetroStars were on fire, and defeated the Diplomats 1 – 0. The MetroStars are playing in the finals, and had to face the Stafford Revolution again. What a final match it was! The game ended in a 0 – 0 game, then after the overtime periods it game was still tired 0 -0. It came down to penalty kicks. The Revolution won the game in penalty kicks 2-0. What an exciting and well-played tournament for the MetroStars!

FPYC PATRIOT CUP - The MetroStars participated in Fairfax Police Youth Club’s 25th Anniversary Labor Day Tournament "Patriot Cup" on August 30-31, 2003. The MetroStars played in the Champion Division and defeated the MCL Raptors on Saturday 1-0. By the afternoon the rain started and when they faced SAC United Premier, they only played two 15-minute halfs. It was a close game, which resulted in 1-0 loss. On Sunday the boys lost 2-0 to the ABGC Red Flames. The boys played well as a team, and it could have went either way.

U11 - Fall ' 02 to Spring '03
This is the first season the MetroStars played 11 v 11, as U11s. The Fall 2002 season the boys were in NCSL, Division 4, and finished with a 2-4-3 record.

The Spring 2003 season the boys were in Division 4 and finished with a 1-5-3 record.




U10 - Spring 02

Last season was the first season that records were kept at NCSL so the teams could be placed in divisions this season. As a result of the Spring 01 Season, the MetroStars were placed in Division 3 of NCSL. The MetroStars finished with a 1-7-1 record. The boys played some excellent teams and played a lot of games that could have went either way.

We participated in the Stafford's St. Patrick's Day Tournament in March and The Virginian in May.



U10 - Fall 01

MCSA Fall Classic - 1st Place

The MetroStars had a great NCSL season as U10s. They participated in the Red Division and finished the F01 season with a 6-2-1 record.

The 2001 MCSA Fall Classic - U10 Champions

The MetroStars participated in The 2001 MCSA Fall Classic during the Thanksgiving weekend and finished as the Boys U10 Champs.


The 2001 FPYC Labor Day Tournament

The MetroStars participated in the Fairfax Police Youth Club's 23 Annual Labor Day Tournament on September 2-3, 2001, and finished with a 2-1 record. To view the MetroStars' record for the tournament, CLICK HERE.

What a good season. The boys finished the season with a respectful 5-2-2 record in the U9, Division "R" of the NCSL.

The Virginian-SECOND PLACE - The MetroStars participated in the 2001 Virginian during the Memorial Day weekend and finished as the Boys U9 Premier Red's Runner's Up. What an excellent tournament! Exciting to the very end. To view the complete schedule on the MetroStars site, CLICK HERE.

Stafford County's St. Patricks Day Tournament
March 17-18, 2001
- The MetroStars played hard on the sticky, muddy fields, but the ball didn't bounce our way on Saturday, 3/17. We lost against the Olney Predators 3-1 and then lost to the Vienna Redhawks 4-1. The boys gave it a gallent effort.
On Sunday, 3/18, the boys played very well and tied Herndon United 2-2.

This is the first season the MetroStars played travel soccer. They were placed in NCSL's W Division. It was a great learning experience for the boys, as travel is a lot different than house play. All in all, it was a fun and great season. Our record for this season was 2-6-0.

We participated in the Midlothian Labor Day Cup in September of '00 and then in the MCSA Fall Classic in November of '00. We are looking forward to the next season.
