Welcome to the Mclean Freedom. A U-10 Mclean MPS team competing in the Old Dominion Soccer League in the Northern Virginia area, just out side of the capital of the free world.

Ms Stephaine Donaldson is joining the coaching / training team and will be taking over MPS Team Freedom as Coach as of the 28th of March 2005.

The developmental teams from Mclean, also competing in ODSL include;

Mclean Power -Divsion 1

Mclean Breakers -Divsion 4

Some 37 girls from Mclean, Falls Church and Arlington County are members of this developmental program. Additional details concerning the programs offered by the Mclean Premier Soccer program and the Mclean Youth Soccer club can be found at www.mcleansocceer.org.

The preceding Saturday , Team Freedom defeated the herdon Surge, 3-2 in the seeded competition which also represented Coach Marvin, facing the team of his BOSS!!!, the Herndon Surge. The Boss went home unlucky and unhappy!!!

Several members of team Freedom (Melissa, Marjorie Rose, Gabby and Meaghan) guest played for the Breaekrs in their seeded competion for 1st place against the Vienna Pheonix White. Team Freedom played an instrumental role in pproviding offensive and of course our hall mark defensive play (keepers and defenders).

Well done Freedom in support of our sister team, MPS breakers!!!!

MPS Freedom Win 2nd Indoor match

Team Freedom recorded their second indoor league win, with a little help from their friends. Our sister teams , MPs Breakers and MPS Power provided needed girl power to offset the numbers of Team Freedom players away on holidays over this long 4 day weekend. Ms Abbey Ferrer opened the scoring for the freedom with a picture prefect goal early in the 2nd half. The Arlington Explosion scored the first goal on a beautiful combination of picture perfect passes, beating keeper Melissia to the far right corner of the goal.

Arlington struck again from an odd girl break,directly in front of the goal early in the 2nd half, making the score 2 to 1 Arlington. Then Team Freedom in their usual style, fought back with a fine effort by great passing combinations from Eliisa (who assisted) and never giving up 2 nd / 3 rd efforts by Melissa (34) . Score now 2 to 2.

Then Arlington struck again going ahead by 1, mid way through the 2nd half. Making the score 3-2.

Team Freedom responder with old team mates from the princess Warriors, Marjorie Rose, Grace and Monica conecting on crisp one touch passes with Monica putiing the ball high into the upper corner. Score now 3-3 with about 6 minutes left.

Team freedom kept the pressure on Explosions and with another fine combination of crisp passes resulted in Vivan ( number 8 from the power) scoring the 4th and winning goal.

The Arlington explosion had several opportunities to score in the last 4 minutes, but our talented corp of keepers of which Sarah Kodres O'brien is one, made truly remarkable kick saves and diving / tumbling saves to secure the win for team Freedom just as the clock wound down to zero.

Next up, the Ashburn Bandits on the 20th of Feb. out bye week is the 6th of Fed; no games are scheduled for the following weekend and then we have two games back to back on the 20th.
