Wednesday, May 1 Latest News MCSC 2013 Season Halfway Stage Reached The MCSC 2013 Season is now halfway complete. Season ends on Saturday May 18th at which time participation medals will be awarded to all players, coaches and assistant coaches.
Focus On Younger Players The MCSC Board Of Directors have agreed to focus the club's limited personel resources on the county's younger soccer players starting this season with the elimination of both the under fourteen and under eighteen divisions. Membership will now only be open to ages four through eleven years of age playing in four divisions, under six, under eight, under ten and under twelve. In addition, the new season will now be six weeks in duration. Once again, parents are enthusiastically encouraged to become involved by volunteering their time to either coach their child's team, train to become a licensed game official or even serve as a prospective MCSC Board Officer. Parental involvment is crucial, please be aware that without committed volunteer help, the MCSC cannot continue to operate. Be sure to check the volunteer box on your child's registration form, or contact the webmaster if you are able to help. The Board Of Directors hopes that with more volunteer help in all areas, the older divisions may once again be reformed in the future.
Board Officer Resigns MCSC Board Officer Mr Frank Coolbroth has resigned. Mr Coolbroth and his family will be relocating to another area. The club would like to thank Mr Coolbroth for his hard work and dedication as a volunteer Board Officer, Team Coach and 08 USSF Referee and wish him all the best for the future.

Animated Soccer Help Confused by the offside rule? Click here for a short animated explanation. New to the game? For a soccer basics animated video, Click here Respect For Our Hosts Once again, members are reminded that the MCSC is a guest at the Idabel High School, and as such, we are required to treat the facilities that are offered to us with the respect with which they deserve. Failure to do so may put the future of all MCSC sponsored events in doubt. Use the restrooms in a correct manner while avoiding any unnecessary littering. There are trash cans available inside the restrooms, please use them. Clean up any litter on the sidelines after your game (or if you practice close to the game fields during the week). There are usually hundreds of people present throughout the day on Saturdays, and this can mean lots of clean up work for overworked club officials. Do your part. Keep away from the baseball facility. The baseball practice nets are both dangerous and expensive pieces of equipment, and not made for children to climb on. Friends and family of all members must be responsible for the conduct of their children while at an MCSC sponsored event. Likewise, coaches should make sure that their teams are kept well away from the baseball facility before, between or after their game. Do not park directly in front of the baseball facility. This is reserved for the baseball teams, officials and supporters. Advertising banners cannot be blocked from view by high profile vans and SUV`s. Also, there is a risk of vehicle damage from fly balls. Do not park your vehicles on the grass. The high school groundsman works hard to maintain the fields, please acknowledge this by using only the parking areas, even if this means a longer walk to the game field. Adherence to these guidelines will allow the MCSC To continue to enjoy the generous hospitality of the Idabel High School. Photos MCSC members who wish to send their MCSC-related photos to the website for possible display should send their jpeg. files to the webmaster. Try to keep your files under 1000kb. All photos uploaded will be screened for suitability and edited if required. If the photos are acceptable, they will be added to the photo album. Please include any relevant information such as team and player name, date etc. Alternatively, photo cd's may be handed in to the concession stand on gameday. Photo security is maintained by allowing club members only to view the photo section after they have first received their own unique access code. All members applying for access to the site are double checked against the registrars list in order to verify their identity. Visit the photo section regularly, as new files are being uploaded weekly. Site Access For New Members New MCSC members who are unable to access some pages of the website must first sign up here to join eteamz, and then upgrade from "fan" status to "member" status. To do this, please contact the webmaster with your name, email address and connection to the club. You will be asked to verify your identity if your details do not match those in the club registration files. Disabling codes have been added to prevent MCSC Photos from being downloaded. These security measures are in place to help protect the privacy of all MCSC Members, especially those who are minors. Please note that the latest version of your preferred browser (Internet Explorer 6, Netscape, Firefox etc) must be installed in order to create your account successfully. Bad Weather Conditions Game cancellations due to bad weather can be a frequent occurrence in southeast Oklahoma. With player safety the main consideration, club officials assess field and weather conditions early game day before making a final decision whether or not to postpone play. Games are cancelled if the fields are waterlogged, or if dangerous cloud to ground lightning is in the area, whereupon team coaches contact all players informing them of cancellations. Although unpleasant, cold rainy conditions alone do not effect the game schedules. Players are reminded that rules regarding team uniforms remain in place regardless of weather conditions. Over exposure to sunlight is a very real hazard in this area. Be aware that sun damage may also occur on both cloudy and cool days. The second half of the spring season and the first half of the fall season are particularly dangerous times to be exposed to sunlight unprotected. Make sure that your child wears sunscreen or sunblock, and reapplies it if playing for prolonged periods, i.e. double-headers. MCSC Weather Page Practices Teams that practice around the game fields during the week must remember to treat the facility with the same respect that they would on game days. This includes picking up ALL of their trash, keeping away from high school equipment and not parking vehicles on the grass. This applies not only to coaches, but to players and parents also. Remember....Keep Off The Game Fields! Did You Know? US Youth Soccer has grown into the largest youth sports organization in the United States. Starting with 100,000 registered players in 1974, today the organization has grown to more than 3 million registered players and over 900,000 administrators and coaches. Lost & Found Several items left on the field are now in the possession of club officials. Anyone having lost personal belongings should contact the club with a description of the lost article, so that they may reclaim the item. Contact: mccurtaincountysoccerclub@yahoo.com Food For Thought Interviewer : 'Would it be fair to describe you as a volatile player?' David Beckham : 'Well, I can play in the centre, on the right and occasionally on the left side.' (MCSC players are encouraged to study hard at school!)
