MAYO ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION YOUTH WRESTLING PROGRAM Feeder Program for South River High School Wrestling Mayo Wrestling & South River Juniors Wrestling Registration for the 2009/2010 Season: - On-line registration will open September 21st, 2009. - Fee is $90.00 - Uniform Deposit is $100.00 The wrestling season starts in early November 2009 and runs through March 2010. Matches will be on Saturdays and Sundays at different schools in the area. Tournaments will be announced at a later date. League: Mayo wrestling participates in the Anne Arundel County League. The county has two separate leagues. The A division is for more competitive and experienced wrestlers. The league is primarily based on weight with few age restrictions. The B division is for first year and intermediate wrestlers within their relative age and weight class. http://www.aacounty.org/RecParks/sports/youth_wrestling.cfm Ages: 6 thru 15 for beginners to experienced wrestlers Weight Classes: 50,55,60,65,70,75,80,85,90,95,101,108,115,122,130,140,150,165,185 Tournaments: There are tournaments that we do require as a team for the wrestlers to participate in. This is part of the registration fee. A list of other tournaments throughout the state will be provided so you can participate. Expense falls on the participant for these registrations. Practice: Practices will be held at South River Senior High School starting in early November. The A team will practice 3 nights a week from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and the B team will practice 2 nights a week from 6:00pm to 8:00pm (actual nights to be determined). Equipment: Deposit Required($100.00) Will be returned when Equipment is returned Wrestling shoes and headgear are required. Headgear can be provided if requested. Uniforms and gear bags will be provided, but must be returned at the end of the season. Volunteers: We can always use volunteers to help throughout the season. Some of the activities would be score keepers, setup mats for home matches, cleaning mats (before practice and matches), photographers, website and more!
