2017 Spring Minuteman Babe Ruth Registration

 NEW!

The summer Mintueman Babe Ruth Registration has been added to the handout tab of this website!

Welcome to the 2017 Maynard/Stow Baseball Programs!

The Maynard /Stow Baseball Charitable Corp. is now in the process of putting together the 2017 Spring Minuteman Babe Ruth Baseball League Teams. This league is a recreational weekend baseball league. Teams are open to 13 - 15 year old players (league age as of April 30, 2017) from the towns of Maynard, Stow and Bolton. Towns competing in this league are Maynard/Stow, Sudbury, Weston, Wayland, Westford, Concord/Carlisle, Acton/Boxboro, Bolton, Ayer/Shirley, Groton, Chelmsford and Littleton.

League play begins the weekend of April 15th and runs through the weekend of June 4th. Playoff games will start on the week of June 5th and the championship games will be played on June 11th. This is a local traveling baseball league with games being played on Saturdays and Sundays with one game at home and the other at an opponent's field.   Most teams also have one weeknight practice a week.

Players can play Babe Ruth and still play on middle and high school teams.  There are seldom conflicts (usually only for HS teams and only if there is a lot of bad weather), and recreational team coaches recognize that school team commitments come first.  Most kids play both!

The Maynard/Stow Board of Director's is also looking for volunteers for our board and for managers and coaches for the upcoming season. There is a very minimal amount of time required of our board members.

The registration form is located in the Handout Tab.   Please mail form and check to MBCC or Michael Chambers, 45 Hastings Rd, Ashburnham, MA 01430. The fees cover uniforms, umpire cost, team equipment, and insurance and league fees.

Note for 16 year olds:  In past years, the Minuteman league allowed 16 year olds who do not play school baseball or AAU baseball to play an extra year of Babe Ruth.  If your son is 16 and wishes to play, please let us know!  There is a limit to the number of 16's per team, but in past years, we have been able to accommodate all 16's who wanted to play.

If you have any questions - please call Mike Chambers at 978-430-6905 or Chris Bell at 617-710-7745 or e-mail us at chambersm@oscie.com or chrisbell7719@gmail.com.

About Maynard Stow Baseball

The Maynard Baseball Charitable Corporation (MBCC) was founded for the purpose of providing the youth of Maynard and Stow, through organized competition, an opportunity to participate in the great game of Baseball. This non-profit charitable program serves youth between the ages of 13 and 18 within the Maynard and Stow communities. Leagues making up the MBCC include the Minuteman Babe Ruth League (Spring, Summer) www.mmbrl.com and the  Lou Tompkins All Star Baseball League (Summer) www.ltabaseball.com and the Central Mass Senior Babe Ruth League (summer) www.eteamz.com/cmsbr. These organizations offer the youth of Maynard and Stow a challenging and competitive program with lessons in teamwork and competition that can be taken with them well beyond the years spent on the baseball diamond. This year we will start our summer registration process for both the Minuteman League, Lou Tompkins League and Senior Babe Ruth League during the first week of May and will conduct tryouts for the Lou Tompkins and Senior Babe Ruth programs during the third week of May.
