  Summer 2004 FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions
**What should my child wear to class?**
Girls wear leotards. We ask that they do not wear tights or socks (too slippery). Leotards are meant to be worn like a bathing suit; no undies as they tend to hang out and hair needs to be pulled back. Boys wear shorts and shirts that they can comfortably move in.

**Where is the best place to purchase leotards?**
At the Flip Flop Shop in the Gym! You can find a great selection of new and used Elite Sportswear Leotards. We receive a new shipment of these high Quality, reasonably priced leotards each much. They wear so well that you are allowed to bring them to the gym to resell them when you grow out of them! (Only Elite sportswear can be resold) Remember Maumelle Gymnastics leotards are a great choice because the gymnasts wear them in the spring program.

**Why are parents asked to view class through the window?**
Parents are asked to watch class from the window because in our pass experience it creates a safer more productive learning environment for your child. It also is a guideline we are asked to follow per our insurance company. We try our best to set the gym so you can see as much as possible. There are a few opportunities for parents to get a closer look. One such chance is Parents week it is held once or twice a year depending upon your child's age and parents are invited into the gym to watch, take pictures and find out what your gymnast has been up to. For school age classes we hold FUN MEETS twice a year so you can view you gymnast in a safe atmosphere.

**How do I know it‘s time to pay for the next Term?**
Two weeks before a new term begins we hold Priority Registration for our existing gymnasts. This allows your gymnast the opportunity to keep their spot in class, and helps us properly staff each class. Each gymnast will receive a tuition reminder. It’s important that tuition be received by the Priority Due Date in order to keep your gymnast’s current class day and time.

**How can I receive a 1/2 off coupon for a leotard?**
By referring a brand new student to Maumelle Gymnastics & Cheer. We take pride in our program and have found that our parents do as well. Most of our new students come from referrals. The coupon is a token of our appreciation. Just have your friend fill in your name on the registration form where it asks where they heard of us.

**What is a skill level progression Program?**
Following the proper progression program while learning gymnastics skills is important for building a strong, safe foundation in gymnastics. For this reason our staff has developed a skill progression program consisting of 6 levels. Each level has specific skills on each of the olympic events- Vault, floor, bar, and beam. Upon mastering each level, gymnasts earn several visual rewards to help parents and gymnasts track their progress. A skill sheet to take home, a tag to collect, and add to a chain, their picture posted on a special bulletin board, and the opportunity to purchase a special color leotard available only to students achieving that level.
