Brett is a pitcher for the Tar Heel club baseball team.
EAST MECKLENBURG HIGH:
2005 (Senior)
Brett was a starting pitcher and 1B for the Eagles. Brett finished with a .378 average (34-90) and was 6-3 with a 1.56 era. He was selected all-conference, all-county and all-state. A team co-captain, he was the Eagles MVP and also received the Top Pitcher award. The Eagles finished 16-12, playing in the conference championship game for the 3rd straight year. The Eagles advanced to the state playoff round of 16.
2004 (Junior)
Brett was a starting pitcher for the east Meck Varsity, helping them to the SW4A Championship game. Brett finished with a 4-2 record and a 1.35 era in 31 innings. He finshed with 27 strikeouts and 13 walks. Brett hit .357 (5-14) on the season.
2003 (Sophomore)
Brett helped the Eagles to a conference championship in 2003 and finished with a 1-0 record.
2002 (Freshman)
Brett played with both the Varsity and JV team.

2004 MATTHEWS COUGARS:
Brett batted .267 for the Cougars and was 2-3 with a 3.08 era.
2003 CHARLOTTE RHINOS:
Brett was a pitcher for the Rhino's 18u select team, finishing the year with a 3-2 record. Brett helped the team win the AABC regular season championship. Brett was named a Most Outstanding Pitcher.
2002 COUGARS:
Brett finished with a 7-2 record for the Cougars, helping them win a state championship and earn a World Series berth. Brett was maned a Most Outstanding Pitcher for the team.
2001 COUGARS:
Brett batted .318 for the Cougars and also stole 23 bases. He was one of the Cougars starting pitchers, finishing the season with a 5-2 pitching record. Brett had a 3 hit game against the Black Sox in the Fall Tournament. Brett also was the winning pitcher against the 2000 State Champion Winston Salem Jayhawks in the AAU State Qualifier.
2000 COUGARS:
Brett was one of the most versatile members of the Cougars team, making only 4 errors in 62 chances at numerous positions. Brett finished the Spring season with a .300 batting average and stole 10 bases. Brett's outstanding defense carried over into the Fall as he made 0 errors in 31 chances at 4 positions (P-OF-SS-2B).

CRESTDALE MIDDLE SCHOOL:
2000-01 (8th grade)
Brett was the starting LF on the baseball team, batting over .350 on the season. He helped the team to a 9-2-1 record and 2nd place finish in the Eastern League. Brett received the Athletic Academic Award with a 4.0 GPA.
LITTLE LEAGUE:
Brett played 3 years for Exxon of the Matthews National Little League. and was a three time all star selection. Brett helped pitch the National team to the District 3 Special games championship, winning 2 games.

Son of Rich and Pam Alter. Brett has one brother (Derek) who attends Middle Tennessee State University.
