MATS FINISH STRONG AT DEER VALLEY TOURNAMENT

After a slow start, Miramonte recorded a 4-2 record at the Deer Valley tournament.

Here's a note from Head Coach Shannon Ross regarding the tourney:

"This past weekend at the Deer Valley Tournament this seasons team really started to come together. We got off to a bit of a rocky start but then settled down and started meshing as a TEAM! It was amazing to see this team start to improve and start to really become one unit, a team! Our win against Mario Carillo at the end was simply fantastic! It took a lot of heart, determination and teamwork to pull it off! All the girls did a great job and I was incredibly proud! Kirsten Rutledge really came into her own over the weekend. She has really grown a lot over the past couple of weeks. Both Beryl Slezak and Sophia Diamantidis had key blocks throughout the second half of the day that helped us to wins over Albany and Maria Carillo. Both Jane Siri and Haley Young were key in the back row, both passed at a high percentage and played great team defense together!"
