Looking Forward to 2010
Happy New Year to all soccer players and fans. Matrix Jamul wishes all of our players, their families and those thinking about playing in Jamul a prosperous and healthy 2010. This year will be an awesome year for soccer. Internationally the Men's World Cup gets under way this summer. Locally, our club is coming off a strong year and looking to expand yet again! How was your 2009? As you look forward, you can't help but look back. Did you accomplish your 2009 soccer goals? Is your player more excited than ever about continuing their development? Did they learn the lessons that will build them into responsible and productive young adults? Bottomline, did they have fun? For Matrix Jamul, 2009 was a good year. Our first-year BU13 team was a force in their bracket and finished a strong 3rd. For the GU15 team, 2009 was a "growth" year. The team moved up a bracket, were very competitive against experienced teams and gained a reputation for playing very high quality soccer. The GU15 team also won the pre-season CV Rangers Cup in their bracket. Looking back Matrix Jamul is focused on setting and achieving our goals. In 2009, 10 GU15 players tried out as freshman for their high school teams. 6 of 8 players made the very, very competitive Steele Canyon High school teams. 5 on the freshman team and 1 JV. 2 other players made Varsity as freshman at Christian and Mater Dei High Schools. Congratulations to those girls for putting in the hard work! Of course, we're not happy until all of our players accomplish their goals, so we have work to do!
As a whole, AYSO Matrix took substantial steps to provide its players with the optimum club experience. With renewed energy, new adidas uniforms, coach's training, and other vital programs, Matrix continued as the area's largest club with over 65 teams. Looking ahead The new year brings all of us opportunity for new beginnings. We are excited about the direction of our players, and we'll excited about the future of our young program. Matrix Jamul coaches are intent on bettering their own abilities and coaching skills to provide a quality soccer program that inspires, challenges and fulfills our children. Last year, several players from neighboring communities made Jamul their soccer home. We expect even more growth this year. We hope that you will consider joining our soccer family in 2010.
