The Matrix 10U Black team coached by Jessica Garay returned from 10U Division II Nationals with a just one win on the scoreboard, but with their competitive play throughout the tournament, they gained valuable experience as players and as a team.

Matrix Loses to Silver Medalist and Then Eliminated
In the Championship Bracket, the Matrix lost their first round game 37-10 to the GA Metros; the Metros went on to get the silver medal in the tournament.  In a must win second game, the Matrix played it close most of the way before falling 32-18 in a game much closer than the final score.

Matrix 10U Goes 1-2 in Pool Play; Advances to Championship Bracket
The Arlington Matrix 10U Black Team went 1-2 in pool play on Sunday and Monday and will advance to bracket play on Tuesday at 9:00.

Coming out nervous in their first game at a national tournament on Sunday, the Matrix immediately fell behind 0-9.  Coach Garay rallied the troops and they played even the rest of the way, but could never overcome the initial deficit as they fell to the NY Future Stars 30-23.

The 10U Black team got its win early Tuesday afternoon as they played very well in a  25-16 win over the Mississippi Magic.  In their final pool play game Monday night, they fell 36-22 to Pool F champion Madison Lady Stars.

The team starts the double elimination Championship Bracket on Tuesday at 9:00 AM vs. the Georgia Metros.  Go Matrix!
