Arlington Matrix AAU finished its spring AAU season the weekend of June 21-22 with three teams in action at the Maryland Flames Summer Spectacular Tournament.  The Matrix 9U Green, 11U Green and 12U Green teams were all in action and all three won their final games of the season.

12U Green
Overcoming key injuries and vacation-related absences, the 12U Green team capped a great comeback to win its final game of the season vs. the Loudoun Freedom on Sunday afternoon.  After battling from behind most of the game, Jo Eisenberg sunk the game winning shot for the team with less than 10 seconds left in the game.

Congratulations to Nick Cannon and the team for its success this Spring 2008 AAU season.  The 12U Green team is also fielding two teams for summer league action.

9U Green
The 9U Green team coached by Richard Jameson finished up an impressive season by going 3-1 in the tourney.  Sunday's wins came against a much, much bigger team and against the 6th place finisher in the Potomac Valley District Qualifying Tournament.  In both games, our girls came out on top with impressive displays of skills, teamwork, hustle and toughness.

The 9U Green team competed at an extremely high level all season, defeating the Division I teams of many organizations and demonstrating an ability to compete with even the best of the 9U teams in our highly competitive Potomac Valley AAU District.

11U Green
The 11U Green team, aka the "Green Wave", coached by Michael Paul finished the spring AAU season with a 3-1 record for the weekend.  The final day's action included wins vs. two Maryland Flames teams, an 11U D2 team and an near 20 point victory over the Flames 10 D1 team.

Congratulations to the 11U Green team for an outstanding season.

The Green Wave has two teams competing in summer league and the team leaves later this week for the USJN Hershey Showcase Tournament in Hershey, PA.
