The Golden Eagles completed an improbable day by winning 3 straight matches without 2 state ranked guys(Heath and Brice) and defended their District Duel Crown by topping Forest Hills in the finals 36-33. 175 lb Sophmore Donnie Conrad played the hero by knocking off Dan Hendrickson at 215 in the final bout of the match with the team score tied at 33.

Tyrone Announces Hall Of Fame Inductees for 2005
2005 inductees into the Tyrone Wrestling Hall of Fame.
The awards ceremony will be conducted Saturday, Febuary 12th at approximately 2:00 p.m.
just prior to Tyrone's wrestling match with Philipsburg-Osceola.
The three inductees are as follows:
Anthony (Tony) Yaniello (Coach): Mr. Yaniello coached the Golden Eagle Wrestling program for 20 seasons from 1980 thru 1999 the longest for any coach in Tyrone's history. Tony's record stands at 158-115-2. Tony coached twenty one district-six champs, six regional champs, and three P.I.A.A. state champions, Tony also was district-six coach of the year in 1981, 1983, and 1985.
Larry Strong (Coach): Mr. Strong Graduated from United High School and was a state champ in 1967 producing an undefeated season of 21-0. Mr. Strong attended Clarion College and was coached by former Tyrone coach Bob Bubb who is also a hall of fame inductee. Mr. Strong was the assistant coach at Tyrone for 22 years amassing just over 200 wins as the Junior Varsity Coach. Mr. Strong has also been inducted into the United High School Hall of Fame, the Indiana County Hall of Fame, And also was the District-Six Man of the Year in 1996.
Harry Sickler ( Wrestler & Contributor): Harry Sickler is a long time contributor for all Tyrone sports. Mr. Sickler likes to refer to himself as the "Rudy" of Tyrone wrestling taking the name from the Notre Dame football walk-on. Like Rudy, Harry participated from the sidelines, his high school wrestling record was an unforgettable zero wins and zero losses. Even though family commitments forced Mr. Sickler to give up wrestling his sophomore year ha never gave up his love and dedication for the sport. To this day he proudly proclaims that high school wrestling is his favorite high school athletic activity. " Where else can you find a better discipline and character builder." Harry backs up his convictions by being an avid supporter of the Tyrone High School wrestling program in many ways. He just doesn't know how to say no.
