ABOUT M.L.G.S. :
Pico MLGS is a recreational fastpitch softball league for girls between the ages of 4 ½ to 16. Our governing organization is Southern California ASA. The primary purpose of MLGS is to foster, promote and advance the sport of girls fastpitch softball in Pico Rivera by developing skills amongst our players and educating our league coaches. It is our goal each and every season to prepare every girl who elects to participate to learn to play the game, regardless of skill level, in a fun, healthy and safe environment.
Age brackets for the Spring 2010 season are as follows:
6U: players born in the years 2003 thru 2005
8U: players born in the years 2001 and 2002
10U: players born in the years 1999 and 2000
12U: players born in the years 1997 and 1998
14U/16U: players born in the years 1993 thru 1996
Registration fee is $80.00 for 6U and $95.00 for 8U through 16U M.L.G.S. is an all volunteer league, and we ask each family to help out in order for our league to function. Each family will be asked to work a shift at the snack bar (per player) and participate in a league fundraiser during the season. All girls playing in the Spring 2010 season, including returning players, will be expected to attend MLGS Player Evaluation Day on Saturday, January 30th at Birney fields (weather permitting) - times to be determined.
Please be reminded that enrollment is limited and will be on a first come, first served basis. Registration is not
considered complete until full payment is received by MLGS. MLGS does its best to ensure that all teams in each division are balanced. Subsequently, a waiting list might be necessary. Priority will be given in order of completed and paid registrations. To ensure your child's place, please do not wait until the last day!
MLGS will do its best to honor special requests made during registration, however no guarantees can be made. All special requests must be received by Player Evaluation day (Jan 30th). Special requests made after Player Evaluation Day will not be considered. All teams, as drafted on draft day, are final.

Pico Rivera M.L.G.S. does not condone drinking of alcoholic beverages at any league games. Smoking at our fields must be done outside the school gates.
Please remember No Smoking or Alcohol on School Grounds.

M.L.G.S. HUMOR
A little girl was trying to raise $100 for her softball team. She prayed for two weeks but nothing happened. Then she decided to write a letter to the Lord requesting $100.
When the postal authorities received the letter addressed to the Lord, USA, they decided to send it to the President of the United States. The President was so impressed, touched, and amused that he instructed his secretary to send the little girl a $5 bill.
The President thought this would appear to be a lot of money to a little girl. The little girl was delighted with the $5 and sat down to write a thank-you note to the Lord, which read:
Dear Lord, Thank you very much for sending me the money. However, I noticed that for some reason you had to send it through Washington, DC and as usual, those jerks deducted $95.
