MARTELLA'S DROPS PAIR TO DELWELD

Martella's Pharmacy dropped a pair of games to Delweld on Wednesday at the Point Stadium.

In the first game, which was suspended from June 11, Delweld defeated Martella's 7-3. 

Zach Satira (3-2) took the complete game loss on the mound.  Matt Staub earned the complete game victory. 

Chris Rasky went 3-3 with two doubles, a triple, and two runs scored.  Jordan Kaufman went 2-3 with a double. 

In the nightcap, Delweld won 1-0 in eight innings to tighten up the league standings.  Matt Staub singled to right field with the bases loaded to end the game.

Landon Wahl (5-1) suffered the loss, allowing one run on five hits in 7 1/3 innings of work.  Brett Vescovi picked up the win, working the final two innings in relief of Pat Smith.

Mike LeViseur tripled, while Chris Rasky and Jon Kirby each doubled for Martella's.

BEN WATKINS DRAFTED BY YANKEES

Ben Watkins was drafted on Thursday by the New York Yankees in the 40th Round of the Major League Baseball Draft.  Watkins has been assigned to the Staten Island Yankees, the Class A Affiliate. 

Watkins appeared in the AAABA Tournament all four years of his playing career.  He went in 2004 and 2005 with the Johnstown Grays, now Martella's Pharmacy, and was a pick up player in 2006 and 2007.

Watkins won the Pete Vuckovich Award in 2007 as the most valuable pitcher in the Johnstown AAABA League.  He went 6-0 with five complete games, 34 strikeouts and a 0.74 ERA.
