MHS Girls Hockey State Sportsmanship Award Presentation this Sunday. Congratulations!

The Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) and the Massachusetts State Hockey Coaches’ Association have selected the Marshfield High School Girls Hockey Team as the 2008-2009 recipient of the James F. Mulloy Sportsmanship Award.The award is presented annually to the most outstanding boys and girls ice hockey programs in each division across the state for demonstrating an allegiance to the ideals of sportsmanship. The team will be were presented the award during the Division 2 girls program recipient during the state championship game this Sunday at the Boston Garden. The entire team is invited. The team captains and school administration will receive the award between the periods of the game. The plan is for student to gather at the MHS parking lot dressed in their MHS team fleece jackets and jeans at 10:30 AM Sunday 3/15/09. The team will caravan in as few cars as possible to Boston.The team will enter the Garden for free through the Press Entrance with the coaches & AD (NLT 12:15PM). The MIAA Tournament finals girls hockey game between Fontbonne and Whitman-Hanson Pembroke begins at 12: 30PM. Award Presentation should be at 1:15PM.At the conclusion of the game, the team will return to MHS. It is a very prestigious award and we hope to have the entire team there to experience it and see the MIAA Tournament Finals as well (good preparation for next year).
