HAPPY NEW YEAR and NEW SOFTBALL SEASON TO EVERYONE!
New for 2012! Marin Girls Softball divisions will be determined by age, not grade. The new divisions are:
- Seniors/15u
- Majors/12u
- Minors/10u
- Rookies/8u
- and the new....Minis!
The league age is determined by birth year. You can refer to the chart below.

| 15U | 1996/97/98 Includes high schoolers who are not playing on their high school team. |
| 12U | 1999 /2000 |
| 10U | 2001 /2002 |
| 8U | 2003 /2004 |
| 6U | 2005 or later |

For new procedures for "Playing Up" or "Playing Down," please see the information on the Rules and Policies Page. Playing Up can be approved by your district. Playing Down needs to be approved by the Rules and Conduct Committee.
Pitching Clinics - We are once again providing our popular indoor pitching clinics at Bacich Gym in Kentfield, on Sunday afternoons. Starting Sunday, Nov 20, Bill Gaito and Erin Downey will return to offer lessons, at 3pm or 4pm each Sunday. See the CLINICS page to the left, and email mgspitching@yahoo.com to reserve a spot.
USED EQUIPMENT : Your league's used equipment might find a home with another district in an equipment swap. Alternatively, Goodman's Building Supply in Mill Valley and T&B Sports in San Rafael both collect used sporting goods to donate to non-profits for other players.

Marin Girls Softball (MGS):
Marin Girls Softball is a volunteer-driven recreational league for youth fast pitch softball in Southern Marin County. We are a recreational program - any age-eligible child can register and all registered kids play. For complete information about MGS please go to the About Us Page.
This website is the central location for all League and District news. At this site, players, parents, family and friends can get updated information about the MGS League and local Districts. Bookmark this site and come back often and regularly to stay current with all of the news related to players, teams, schedules, standings, clinics and other relevant information. We will update this page regularly to keep all MGS participants and interested people up to date on our softball league.
