4/7/2009: - 100 MILE TIGER CHALLENGE
Saturday July the 4th saw Mardy Tigers F.C. complete a monumental challenge by dribbling a football non stop for 12.5 hours covering 100 miles to raise money for the club. Kicked off @ 7.40a.m. by Lisa the tigers took it in turns to complete a lap of the King Henry VIII School running track no fewer than 400 times with the final lap of honour from everyone taking place @ 8.10p.m. The determination shown by everyone on the day was an awesome sight to behold with some tigers running 5 miles during the event. Big Wayne's Roadshow entertained us all day with a selection of his finest tunes whilst refreshments were provided by Paul & Coleen. Special presentations were made to the top 3 money raisers on the day: - 1 - Zoe 2 - Kate & 3 - Megan who raised £500.00 plus by themselves. The challenge also helped raise the profile of the club with many people stopping their cars to take a look at the spectacle during the day. Some tired tigers retired to their beds on Saturday evening with the satisfaction of knowing they'd achieved something quite special - 4 MARATHONS IN 1 DAY. Well done you special tigers. Top Performers: - 1. Ellie - 5.25 Miles 2. Kate & Shauna - 4.75 Miles 3. Rhiannon, Frankie & Jemma - 4.50 Miles 4. Sammy - 4.25 Miles 5. Rhian L. Amy, Abbie, Zoe & Alana - 4 Miles 5.
