Marcus High School Baseball Coaches

Art Senato, Head Coach - Varsity

Coach Senato begins his second year at Marcus.  In his first season as the Marauder's skipper, Coach Senato led the program to new heights.  The Marauders finished with 26 wins and 14 losses.  Their playoff run began by defeating Keller Fossil Ridge in three games after losing one.  In the Area round of the playoffs, the Marauders scored 2 runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat Plano 2-0 in a 1 game playoff.  Then in the Regional Quarter-Finals, Marcus defeated a tough Plano East team 2 games to 1 to advance farther than any Marcus Baseball team ever had.  Next, the Marauders played Odessa High (#5 ranked 5A team in the state), in the Regional Semi-Finals at Abilene's Hardin-Simmons University.  Marcus swept Odessa and allowed only 1 run in the two games which included a win by the 10 run mercy rule in Game 2.  In the Regional Finals the Marauders again traveled to West Texas, this time to Midland to face El Paso Socorro.  The Marauders put up a valiant fight, but could not overcome the hot bats of Socorro, which would go on to win the 5A State Championship the next weekend.

In addition to the Team Honors, the Marcus Baseball Program enjoyed unprecedented individual success.  The following is a list of the individual honors garnered by this year's team.
