MCC-Maple Woods 4th Annual High School JR/SR Showcase

The Maple Woods Baseball Showcase will take place rain or shine.  Be prepared to do some activities outside or indoors.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at (816) 437-3500. 

 Maple Woods Baseball will be hosting their 4th annual high school showcase.  The Jr/Sr showcase will take place Oct. 25th 2009 from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the Sports Training Center and Maple Woods Baseball Field.  Players will be evaluated by pro scouts and college coaches from MW and other area 4 year colleges and universities.  The players are required to bring their own equipment (spikes, gloves, bats, and catching gear).  The cost is $50.00 per player.

MCC-Maple Woods finishes 2009, 40-19

MCC-Maple Woods finished the year Monday, by losing to Seminole State College in the South Central District Championship 5-7.

Seminole State will represent the South Central District at the World Series.

MCC-Maple Woods will hold its open tryout June 4 at the Maple Woods field beginning at 1:00pm.

2009 REGION XVI CHAMPIONS

St. Louis, MO-The Monarchs completed the sweep of the Region XVI Division I Baseball Tournament by beating Jefferson College in the championship 10-8.  MCC-Maple Woods was the number one seed, entering the tournament 34-17, and 22-6 in Region XVI play.  The Monarchs beat #8 seed North Central Missouri College 5-4 in the first round. Second round play had the Monarchs spreading Mineral Area College 14-4. Next MCC-Maple Woods beat Jefferson College 6-5 putting the Monarchs in the championship. Jefferson College then beat St. Louis Community College-Meramec 10-0 to once again face the Monarchs.

MCC-Maple Woods capitalized on homeruns by Rashad Jackson, CJ McElroy, and a grand slam by catcher Adam Seal.  Tommy Coovert threw 6 2/3 innings, Alex Ross entered the game, and Chris Thomas closed the game by throwing the remaining 2 1/3 innings.

Head Coach Marty Kilgore once again captured the Region XVI Coach of the Year honor.

MCC-Maple Woods will now host the NJCAA South Central District Championship May 15-16.
