Background Check

For the 2013 season, the background check process has been completely changed. Along with filling out the standard online CYSA Coach Registration Form 1650 (see link in previous section), coaches must also be fingerprinted through Live Scan. Once a coach is processed by Live Scan, it never has to be done again. For more information about getting fingerprinted through the Live Scan program, please contact the Clovis Junior Soccer League (

All coaches registered in the Clovis Junior Soccer league must be licensed. To receive a license, you must attend a coaching class for that license. To register for a coaching class, please contact the CJSL office at 325-2575 (fax is 298-6997) or send an e-mail to

Practice Suggestions

For practice suggestions and sample drills, please see the Forms and Documents page.

Maple Creek Soccer Club will provide each team with soccer balls, cones, disks, practice jerseys (pennies), a ball bag, goalie jersey, and a game ball. Each player must acquire shin guards and soccer shoes at their own expense.

Maple Creek Soccer Club will provide each player with a jersey, shorts, and socks. The cost of the uniform is included in the registration fee.

Practice Schedule

Each coach is responsible to determine the practice frequency, days, and times. Each team will typically practice 1 to 2 times per week. It is the coach's responsibility to schedule the team's practice day/time with the Maple Creek Soccer Club. Failure to schedule your team's practice day/time could result in your team losing the practice day/time to another team. The practice schedule can be found on the Schedules page.

Practice Fields

The coach must practice on the field designated for the team. Where the team practices is listed on the Practice Schedule. A map of the Maple Creek practice fields can be found on the Fields page.

Code of Conduct

The Maple Creek Soccer Club is part of the Clovis Junior Soccer League class 4 program (recreational soccer). Coaches are role models to the parents and players and should be positive, encouraging, patient, and respectful. Inappropriate language or actions will not be tolerated at any time (before, during, or after your games or practices). Fair play should apply at all times. Every attempt should be made for equal play time (each player is required to play at least half or the game).
