MANTUA MAGIC CHEERLEADING: Welcome

Welcome to Mantua Township Cheerleaders! - "Mantua Magic"

Team 2007-1
Magic Team 2007

Our goal is to have fun, learn to work together as a team, develop team spirit, develop gymnastics and dance skills, encourage self-esteem and hopefully win some competitions.

Below you will find information regarding the need for volunteers fundraising, uniforms and other pertinent information.  If you have any questions regarding any of this information, please do not hesitate to ask any one of us.

Conduct:

Mantua Magic Cheerleaders are expected and required to behave with dignity and respect for one another.  Foul language will not be tolerated especially in front of the children.  If a cheerleader and/or parent conduct himself or herself in any other way, the child will no longer be welcome on the squad.

If you have a concern about anything regarding the squad or organization, please discuss your concerns privately with one of the coaches at a convenient time before and/or after a practice or through a telephone call.

Practice:

If you going to miss a practice, it will be your responsibility to call (not to tell a friend to pass it along) that will be treated as an unexcused absence.  It is your responsibility to call us and let us know that you will not be attending the practice.  There will be no more than 3 allowed absences of practice before you will be asked to leave the squad.  It is very important to make each and every practice.  This is a commitment not only on the cheerleader but the parents as well.  If we don’t have a child at practice, then we are forced to rearrange the routine and continue on, we can not stop practice because a child consistently misses practice.

All girls should arrive on time and be ready to practice.  They should wear appropriate clothes and sneakers.  Their hair should be pulled off their face and a water bottle should be brought with them to every practice.  There will be no tolerance for wearing of jewelry and/or gum chewing of any kind.  This is for the safety of the children as well as for the safety of the children around them.  Once cheerleading sneakers have been issued, they are to bring them to each and every practice in a separate bag as they are not permitted to wear these sneakers outside.

Uniforms:

Uniforms are supplied by Mantua Township Cheerleaders.  Please take good care of these as they are very expensive.  They should be washed in cold water, gentle cycle before every competition.  Please do not put them in the dryer and DO NOT IRON them.

We thank  you in advance for your participation and we all look forward to a successful year!

FAREWELL

To everyone who has been a part of Mantua Township Cheerleaders (Magic), this is my final email to all of you.  Magic has come to an end due to lack of participants this year.  To all the coaches over the 22 yrs.: Patty, Kathy, Ruth, Lisa, Sue, Meredith, Lauren, and Pam who were a part of this organization, I thank you for all your wonder ideas, your perseverance and dedication, as well as the parents throughout those years, this organization could not have survived without your help.  Through the blood (mostly mine) sweat (everyone, including me) and tears, yes, those too, and all the laughs.
I wish the best of luck to those girls who moved on to other teams, and to those who chose to pursue other avenues.
I thank you for the memories!!
See you around,
Denise
