BlastBall - A Good Way to Start
In the spring of 2005 MGSA offered BlastBall for the first time. Historically we have had some parents sign up their 3 or 4 year old daughters for Tee-Ball. Although the game isn't difficult and most girls are playing for the first time the younger players didn't grasp the rules and therefore it was not a good experience for them or their parents.
BlastBall was created with the younger players in mind. The rules are simple: * A batter hits the ball off of a tee * The batter runs to the Blast Base *The fielders (5 maximum) try to field the ball and yell Blast! before the runner gets to the base
The equipment is designed so that players can learn the game without being afraid of being hurt by the ball or bat (both are very soft).
The base makes a honking noise when the runner steps on it, the incentive for running to it.
