AUBURN HILLS MAKOS - YOUTH FOOTBALL & CHEER: Welcome
|
|
The Auburn Hills Makos are a member of the Northern Youth Football League (NYFL), an excellent league, which was founded on "Kid's First" principles. We provide a positive, safe, and fair learning environment for ALL kids. Our coaches are experienced, compassionate and understand that winning is not only determined on the field, but is also measured by your child's experiences and achievements in life. We provide newer, well maintained equipment that ensures your athlete's safety when they take the field. Joining the Makos gives your child the opportunity to participate in local competition against athletes they will likely face through High School. Local competition includes other NYFL teams from Birmingham, Brandon, Clarkston, Lake Orion, Pontiac and Waterford. The travel demands are realistic with most opponent's fields reachable in a 15-20 minute drive. The Auburn Hills Makos Youth Football and Cheer is a growingly, competitive program which has qualified for postseason play on all three levels (freshman, JV, Varsity) over the past 5 seasons. Several of our former Mako players have gone on to play High School football with much success due to their participation with the Makos.
The Makos Youth Football and Cheer program is offered to children between the ages of 7 - 14 and divided into three divisions: Freshman (ages 7-9), Junior Varsity (ages 10-11) and Varsity (ages 12-14). Our 2009 season kicks off with football camp on July 20th. Our season opener games begin August 21st. Our season ends with the playing of the NYFL Super Bowl in November (this year the Super Bowl will be hosted by the Makos at the Shark Tank), followed by an end of the season awards banquet.
Join us and find out why we're saying
"Oooh, ahhh... YOU wish you were a MAKO!"
PURCHASE STADIUM BRICKS ONLINE!
As we continue our fundraising efforts, the Stadium Brick is an inexpensive way to support construction. Each brick sold will help to offset labor costs, materials, and stadium equipment. Bricks will be installed prior to first home game of 2009!

Tuesday, May 26
It is with a "heavy and saddened heart" that the NYFL has learned that long-time coach and volunteer Kenn McClendon has passed away. "Kenny Mac", as he was known fondly, was a founding member of the Pontiac Panthers and also tirelessly served as it's President and Head Coach.
The family has asked that, in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the Pontiac Panthers Youth Football and Cheer Organization.
