Spring 2012 brings a fresh start for many teams and organizations in the football community. The NEW Auburn Hills Youth Football Association (AHYFA) and the MAKOS, an Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Club bring select tackle youth football to Oakland County.
A NEW and truly developmental "House" league will be offered on the Freshman Level:
- Instructional / Technique Based / Coaches on the field

Still development-minded, an advanced "House" league is offered at the Sophomore Level:
- More Competitive / Skill Driven / Coaches on the sidelines
The Junior Varsity Makos will be a Select AAU Travel Team playing under the Rules and Guidelines of AAU/USA Football.

The Varsity Makos will be a Select AAU Travel Team playing under the Rules and Guidelines of MHSAA/AAU/USA Football.

What does this mean? It means that each individual "House" team can hold tryouts, recruit, and select players for their individual team within the AHYFA/MAKOS organization. Any AHYFA/USA FOOTBALL/AAU certified coach can have a individual "House" team in an age group. Unlike other leagues in our area, you DO NOT need to have a team in each age group.
The 2012 AHYFA/MAKOS Season will begin with official camp in Mid-August for 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U. Determination of Age is July 31st, 2012. All players will be required to provide official Birth Certificate/AAU Membership/Physical to participate.
Cost for "House" team is $1875 for complete team (plus $45 per player "Gear Pack") or $125 per player (plus $45 per player "Gear Pack"). Coaches and Players must obtain AAU Membership (click on "JOIN AAU" on the navigation bar). Each "House" team must have a minimum of 13/maximum of 17 players. Team Fees cover Game and Practice equipment, AHYFA certified Coaches, Refs and Chain Crew, Game and Practice Sites, Administrative Fees and General Liablity. Division Winners will represent franchise in post season tournament. POST SEASON TOURNAMENT FEES/COSTS NOT INCLUDED.
Costs for AAU Select Travel Teams are on an individual basis of $175 ( plus $45 per player "Gear Pack") An additional $150-200 Hotel cost will apply. Additional travel expenses will also apply. Coaches and Players must obtain AAU Membership (click on "JOIN AAU" on the navigation bar). Team Fees cover Game and Practice equipment, AHYFA certfied Coaches, Refs and Chain Crew, Game and Practice Sites, Administrative Fees and General Liablity. POST SEASON TOURNAMENT FEES/COSTS NOT INCLUDED.
