Cal Ripken Major Braves: Welcome

Sunday, January 27
Minor Braves

The coaching staff would like to welcome you to the team and our site. Here you can view schedules, contact coaches, share pictures, and much more. Our goal this year will be to help develop baseball skills in each player by teaching the fundamentals as it relates to running, throwing, catching, hitting, and a understanding of the game at a level the players are capable of. Our primary goal will be to have fun at all times and help each players and parents experience be one of excitement and enjoyment. There will be an emphasis placed on learning how to win as a team.

Below you will find a series of handouts. Team guidelines and a communications handout. I recommend printing them off and reading through them. If you do not have access to the internet at home you might want to do it at work as I do not make phone calls about practices or games unless absolutely necessary.

We look forward to a wonderful year!

Practice time is teaching time!

It is very important that players arrive 15 minutes prior to the scheduled practice time to allow proper stretching and preparation for a good practice. Skill teaching will be brief in nature to coinside with short attention spans at this age. Please do not interupt practice time for one on one meetings. Contact the coaches if you need one on one time to discuss your players progress. Below is a list of items necessary for practice.

Baseball Pants, Hat, Glove and a an athletic cup. Players must have their cup on to practice or play games! Players are responsible for bringing their own water or beverages and should not rely on coaches or other players to provide coolers, beverages, or storage places.

If you can not make practice I would appreciate a email or phone call to let me know as often I plan practices that rely heavily on team participation.
