Mainland Boys Cross Country: Welcome

2008 County XC
The Internet Home of Mainland Boys Cross Country and Track

This is a website dedicated to the Mainland Regional High School Boys Cross Country Team. We hope to include updates on the current team, records, schedules, and info on the team's history as well. We will also follow the team's efforts as they compete in Spring Track.

Mainland is located in Linwood, New Jersey, and draws upon Northfield, Linwood, and Somers Point for its students. They compete in the Cape Atlantic League. Dan Heyman is the boys cross country coach, and is the distance coach for the boys in spring track.

The 2010 Boys Cross Country Team finished 6-3, third in Atlantic County and 3rd in the Cape-Atlantic League American Conference. The team was ranked in the top 20 in South Jersey, and in the State Top 40. The team featured one First Team All Star in the C.A.L. for 2010. The team has had tremendous success over the last 10-15 years, including their greatest "perfect" back-to-back seasons in 2002 and 2003. In 2003, the Cross Country team completed the "Fivepeat, Threepeat, Repeat", winning their 5th consecutive South Jersey, 3rd consecutive State, and back-to-back All-Group State Meet of Champions Titles. In 2003, the 4 x Mile team became High School All-Americans with a 3rd place finish in the Adidas Outdoor National Championships.

In 2004, the 4 x Mile team again returned to All-American status with a bronze medal finish at the AOC.
