Mustangs Cruise By Natchitoches 8 to 0

Caddo Magnet had another easy night on the pitch as they cruised by Natchitoches 8 to 0. The Mustangs substituted frequently throughout the contest while scoring four times in each half. They were so dominant in all areas that the Chiefs never managed a single shot-on-goal while the Mustangs challenged the keeper with seventeen.

The first score came in the fifth minute when midfielder Zach Kelly sent a pass to Victor Leuck who quickly slipped a grounder past the keeper. In the 20th minute Leuck notched his second goal from close in when he finished a very nice Jordan Abdehou cross from the deep left. Then in the 25th minute midfielder Nick Flowers sent a sharp pass from the middle to Leuck who quickly sent it in to record his third goal of the contest. Just before the half Adam West caught the keeper napping with a 35-yard low bullet from the middle of the field.

Second half scores came from Flowers as he slammed in a corner kick in front of the goal (Jimmy Cowles with the corner kick), Alex Blandin on a heads-up shot in the 6-yd box when the keeper fumbled a scorcher from Cowles, Steven Bush with a header off a Cowles corner kick, and lastly Alex Payne on a very nice 30-yarder just over the keeper’s reach from the center midfield.

Despite the lopsided game Natchitoches tried to make a contest of it with aggressive play throughout but never managed to possess long enough to create a challenge for the Mustang defense. The Chiefs earned a yellow in each half for rough play while the Mustangs avoided card trouble. Next up for the Mustangs is another trip down to South Louisiana in late December for the St. Paul’s Holiday Tournament.
