Mustangs Blank Natchitoches in District Match
The Mustangs score three goals by the seventh minute of the game - all virtually off the same play - en route to a 7 to 0 win. Natchitoches was playing a flat four and pushing their defense up making easy pickings for center-mid Zach Kelly to send through balls to Eric Johnson who had too much speed for the Natchitoches defenders. The fourth goal was a nice cross from Steven Bush to Johnson who chested the ball to the ground turned and shot.

The second half started exactly like the first with a through ball from Kelly to Johnson who was off to the races again. Johnson also scored off a corner from Bush when he one-touched the ball just before it hit the ground and placed it nicely in the corner. Johnson finished the night with the last score giving him all seven goals.

The defense had little pressure all night and they did a very nice job of moving the ball around. Magnet keeper Chris Hilario was never threatened in the first half. Luke Snow was goalkeeper in the second half and had to make a save late in the game. A Natchitoches forward got loose and was able to keep the ball and dribble to just outside the upper right portion of the box where he placed a nice shot toward the left side of the goal. Snow made a diving fingertip save to preserve the shutout for his defense that played so well all night long.

One more game to go on Tuesday and Magnet can seal the deal on a perfect district season!
