Major Softball and Junior/Senior Baseball State Finals wrapped up...
Wakefield Major Softball and Weston 11 yeard old baseball both finished as State runner-ups Congratulations to both Wakefield and Weston for a terrific run!
North Reading fell to Quincy in the deciding game for the Junior Baseball State title. North Reading also had a terrific run including the last couple of games at the wonderfull LaLacheur Park.
Weston won their rubber game against Seekonk to capture the Senior Baseball State title. Weston advance to theEastern Regionals in West Deptford, NJ. Best of luck in the Regionals.
Congratulations to all three teams for reaching the State Finals, no small feat!

Three District 13 teams advance to their respective State Finals this weekend...
Wakefield will take on Jesse Burkett in the Major Softball division State finals in Worcester at Rockwood Field. First game Friday at 5:30.
North Reading defeated Gloucester 2-0 to advance to the Junior Baseball State Finals in Lowell. First game at Saturday 1:00 at LaLacheur Park. The will face winner of Auburn-Quincy game(Friday).
Weston defeated Gloucester 1-0 to advance to the Senior Baseball State Finals in Lowell. First game at Saturday 4:00 at LaLacheur Park. They will face winner of Millbury-Seekonk game(Friday).
All series will be a 2 out of 3.
11 year old and Major Baseball District finals completed...
Stoneham will move on to the sectionals in Lynn following their win over Assabet Valley in the Major Baseball district final. They will play at 2:00 Thursday against District 14 winner.
It took extra innings to decide the 11 year District final in which Weston edged out Wakefield National 8-7. Weston will move on to the sectionals in Swampscott with their first game on Friday.
11 year old and Major Baseball moving to next round...
In the 11 year old division, North Reading and Wakefield National go undefeated in pool play and will host Weston and Wakefield American respectively on Saturday at 2:00.
Wakefield National and Weston win on Saturday and will advance to the District Final on Sunday at 2:00 Weafer Park.
In the Majors division, it came down to the last day of games to determine who would advance with almost every team in the hunt. When the dust settled, Assabet Valley will host Wakefield National and Stoneham will host Weston in single elimination on Saturday at 5:00.
Softball and upper level Baseball wrap up...
Wakefiled edges out Assabet Valley with two 1-run games to win the District Major Softball. Weston will represent District 13 in the Senior Baseball division while North Reading defeated Stoneham in the deciding game in the the Junior division.
Jimmy Fund Little League summer program...
The District 13 Little League Jimmy Fund program will start on July 13 and will go through August 15. This will include a week of playoffs. Three divisions are availble for team entries, 8-9, 9-10, and 11-12 year old divisions. Contact your league president for player registrations. Additional information will be provided in the Jimmy Fund on the left as it becomes available.
Little League all-star Tournament approaching...
The District tournament meeting will be held on Monday June 22nd. Each league/team should have their tournament team information prepared for the meeting. The district staff will review the information at this meeting as well as hand out schedules and guidelines. Contact your league president for information. League Administration Clinic - February 7, 2009...
League Administration clinic coming to Massachusetts. The Clinic will be held on Saturday, February 7th at the Newton Marriot. All League Officers and Board board members are encouraged to attend and hear the hometown presentation first hand. With nearly 7,000 leagues nationwide, it would be impossible for Little League's professional staff members to conduct league administration, umpire and coaches clinics for each. Nonetheless, our top staff members and volunteers have teamed up to bring truckloads of tips to your backyard. Consider it a live version of the publication "A Year In the Life of Hometown Little League!" Local league volunteers just like you will learn how best to implement the Little League program in their town or neighborhood.

The well known baseball trainers known as Big Al & Little Al, Al Herback & Al Price, are bringing their Coach & Manager clinic to the Beverly Field House on Sunday, February 8, 2009. There will be two sessions, one for Coaches/Managers of players 9-12 (Baseball & Softball) and one for Coaches/Managers of players 5-8 (Getting Started).
