MNLL 9yr champs

Congratulations to the winners of the 2009 Jimmy Fund Allstar Tournament. On behalf of the District Staff, I would like to thank everyone who participated in this tournament. We had a great time this summer and saw a lot of good baseball. We were able to raise a lot of money for the Jimmy Fund. That is what this whole tournament is about, to raise money for kids who can't play the game. Everyone who took part in this is a winner. Thanks for a great job, to all the Managers, Coaches, players, officials, and leagues.

Thanks,

Dave Barnes

District 12 Champions 2009 Everett
District Title Won By Everett Little League

Everett wins District Title against West Medford 5-3.

A game West Medford team came out fighting tonight, trying to tie the Everett team for the District title.  But even after hitting two towering home runs they fell short to Everett. Everett now moves on to the Bi-District games which will start next Thursday 7-23-2009 at Shrafts field in Charlestown.

Medford National Little League 2009 Jimmy Fund Softball Champs
A big Thank You goes out to Malden West Little League and their President Paul Foster for hosting the 2009 Jimmy Fund Coaches Softball tournament. This event raised a lot of money for the Jimmy Fund. Malden West Little League played Medford National Little League over the weekend at the Salemwood School in Malden. We hope to get every league involved next year. This was a fun event and everyone should consider taking part next year. Alsway remember, we are here to help raise funds for children who can't play. We all need to take the extra steps to help out.

Information Disimination and District Governing Rules
District 12 Members,

With the 2009 season starting and a lot of new league officials, I'd like to go over a few items.

1) The dissemination of information is presented through the Official Web site, email and District meetings. No individual phone calls or mail will be sent to anyone unless it is a short notice or emergency situation. It is the responsibility of all League Presidents to obtain an email address or access to a computer and the web site. If you do not own a computer, you should assign a member of your board to receive our email and access our web site via their home computer and pass any information on to you, or go to your local library to use a computer. You may also call the District Administrator or any ADA's. Numbers and email addresses are listed in the District 12 Staff section of the web site, if you need additional information.

2) Rules of the District are governed by the District 12 bylaws. You may obtain a copy of these bylaws by going to the web site Handout section. If you cannot access it, contact me and I will make you a hard copy for the next District meeting. All bylaws and amendments are voted on by the District 12 Presidents or league representatives. No ADA's are allowed to vote unless they are League Presidents or their representative. These bylaws are binding to all leagues and district staff. The bylaws including the yearly dues are not voluntary but mandatory. At the discretion of District Administrator Bernie Colbert, the district has given league presidents the ability to control the operation of the district. Therefore it is important that your league is represented at all meetings. The bylaws of the district is a privilege not a right, granted by the District Administrator to allow the leagues to govern how the district is run. Please make full use of that privilege, as it is subject to the discretion of the District Administrator to continue this form of government.

3) If you have any suggestions, or information that you would like posted on the agenda for any District meeting please contact me. This also applies to anything you may want posted on the District 12 website, including photo's, video, training programs etc.

4) Please check the Links section of the Website, if your league is not listed, let me know, send me the link address and I will add it to the list.

Yours in Sports,
Dave Barnes
