Madeira Youth Soccer is a purely VOLUNTEER administrated organization with a goal of providing quality services to the children in Madeira School District and those attending St. Gertrude. In any given season, we have around 450 players in the program. We are one of the founding members in The Cincinnati Hills League. We are a SAY soccer organization were our emphasis is learning while having fun!
Every season we employ a trainer to assist our coaches with practice lesson plans and to help develop our players. This is what makes our program so unusal and successful - Madeira Youth Soccer is a Pioneer in our SAY program - in employing professional trainers to work several times a season with our teams as typically that only happens with "Select" clubs. We believe this contributes to our success both in player and coaching development. All of our Coaches are volunteer coaches and we currently employ the services of a professional trainers.
Tim Dicke as of 2013, Tim is now the former Director of the Madeira Youth Soccer program and recently decided it was time to move on as his daughter is almost through High School and his son is playing Select Baseball and Basketball. While with MYS, he worked with Mariemont (Bob Rich, Joe Mehl and others) to form The Cincinnati Hills League. It was his belief that the players should have opportunities to allow them to learn the game with quality instruction, thus is an advocate for certification of coaches, employment of trainers and promoting opportunities like the Soccer Camps we host. He worked countless hours answering questions, organizing and running registration process, maintaining field space, organizing schedules of practices and games, working with the league on tournaments, attending league meetings, ordering uniforms (huge job), organizing and ordering awards, preparing the fields, organizing camps and hosting camps and other items necessary to keep the program on track (just to name a few tasks) and remember this was a VOLUNTEER position he did for over 10 years. We are thankful to have a dedicated volunteer like him. Tim and Jill will stay on for a season with board positions in hopes to make this a smooth transition.
Mike Combs has taken over the helm at MYS! We are excited to have him.
