December 20th 2011 Championships – Desales University – March 31st 2012

Championship selection process for team ( at large )- This year we will take up to 16 teams in the finals set for March 31st 2012. There will be 5 divisions with first and second place teams from every division making it into the playoffs. That leaves room for 6 additional teams. Any team wishing for an at large bid must request so with an email to Steve Covert before March 16th 2012. The advisory committee will make the final decision on at large team selections. The host school will not be given an automatic bid but will receive added criteria for this selection process

$50 increase – Due to the increase in security for the hotels and venue -

Advisory board members for 2012 –
Cody Gross – Penn College
Ben Diller – Alvernia
Andrew Kalasky – Desales
Tom McLaughlin – Rowan

Logo 2012/2013 – Any one wishing to design a LOGO for the MAC Conference please submit your design to Steve Covert.

New balls for 2013 – For the 2012 and 2013 season we will continue to use the Molten Pro touch red white and blue for the official ball of the league. In the future we will discuss the possibility of switching to the Molten FIVB ball but will give everyone at least a 16 month notice

Entry fee increase for 2013 – Starting in 2012 for the 2013 season the fee for the league will be increased to $200 for the year. This is to reflect the increases at other areas.

Escrow Fee for team participation - Starting in 2013 season each team captain will be responsible to write a $200 escrow check as part of the registration procedure. These checks will not be cashed and will be returned to the team captain at the end of the season as long as the club team participates in all their league matches. Any team that does not fulfill their game schedule will forfeit the $200. This has been a growing problem in the past, with teams forfeiting the end of their season when their record starts to fade. It is not fair to the other teams in your division for you to give up mid season.

Beach League - In January we will put together a Spring beach flyer for any teams interested in playing a outdoor league. College teams will consist of 3 – doubles teams that will play 2 – 21 point games each on one court. 3 seed vs 3 seed , then 2 seeds and finally the top teams. Match win will be the best record. This will be 2 leagues one for men’s and one for women’s teams . More info will be available in January Meeting attendance -

The meeting for the start of the season was attended by way to few clubs. Starting next year the meeting will be held in Reading area and each team will be required to send at least one representative.

There are 10 players on your team so at least one person should be able to make it. Failure to have anyone at the meeting could be punishable by a fine to start the season

ID Checks - Starting this year at the beginning of every match each player must present themselves and their school ID during warm- ups (no drivers licenses will be acceptable) to the official and only those players will be allowed to compete in the match. This is to eliminate any question to eligibility. If you still suspect problems please email Steve Covert as soon as possible

Lots of new stuff and I hope you will all be getting your forms and checks in soon Thanks Steve
