MACOMB JFL EQUIPPED FLAG FOOTBALL
Macomb Junior Football League is an Equipped Flag Football program for 5thand 6thgraders. Equipped Flag football is just what it sounds like flag football while wearing all of the traditional safety equipment such as; Certified Helmets, Shoulder pads, and pants with built in padding. The Macomb JFL will maintain our certification through USA Football’s Heads Up Shoulder Tackling technique. We will instruct the players using these tried and true tackling fundamentals with one simple change – we will grab a flag. With Equipped Flag the Macomb JFL will be able to teach the proper and age appropriate blocking fundamentals and technique. The goal of the Macomb JFL is to prepare the 5thand 6thgrade boys to move forward in their Football future. By removing the actual “Tackling” we are hopeful that more boys will consider the Football path. Our games will be held at MHS Football field on Sunday afternoons and perhaps a game or two under the lights on a Friday night. Practices will be held during the week at Patton Park Football field (next to the pond). MHS Varsity Head Coach Tony Westen has been instrumental in the transition of the JFL to be a first taste of Macomb Football for your son we are looking forward to seeing you on the field!
