2009 Boys Youth Spring League
| Click Here for Online Registration! Boys' Youth Lacrosse League January 15, 2009 Dear Lake Zurich Student: Welcome to the Lake Zurich Lacrosse Club! The Lacrosse Club was established in 2002 to develop, support, and promote the sport of lacrosse in the Lake Zurich area as well as provide Lake Zurich High School students with the opportunity to play competitive lacrosse at the high school level. In 2007, we started the boys’ youth feeder system for the Lake Zurich High School boys’ lacrosse program and have grown from two teams and 43 players in 2007 to five teams and 101 players in 2008. The Lake Zurich boys’ youth program was very successful in 2008 with three of five teams winning their respective league championships at the Bantam, Lightning, and Junior levels. We are very excited to announce that we will participate again in the Lacrosse America Spring 2009 Lacrosse League in the North Conference. Participation is open to boys in 2nd through 8th grade. This program will focus on individual skill development, team concepts, game situation drills, and learning the rules of the game for beginners to experienced players. Our conference consists of 20 different teams and we will be competing against some of the following local teams: Barrington, Grayslake, Lake Forest, Libertyville, Palatine, and Schaumburg. Practices will be at various fields in the Lake Zurich area and home games will generally be played at Lake Zurich High School. The first practice is April 4, 2009 and the program will run through June 14, 2009. There will be three practices per week on either Tuesdays/Thursdays or Mondays/Wednesdays from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturdays, times to be announced. Games will be played mostly on Sundays with some games on Saturdays. Each team will play approximately 3 home games and 3 away games with a season-ending tournament. The league fee is $200 for Seniors (8th grade) and Juniors (6th – 7th grade) and $180 for Lightning (4th – 5th grade) and Bantams (2nd – 3rd grade) per player. Players can rent equipment from Lacrosse America beginning in March. For more information and to register online visit www.lacrosseamerica.com in February, 2009. Also, we need coaches. With the rapid expansion of lacrosse, we will need the help of coaches for each team. A Lacrosse America and or Lake Zurich High School coach will be at each practice and game to help with instruction, so a lacrosse background is not as important as the enthusiasm and leadership needed to coach. Lacrosse America will be holding lacrosse coaching clinics in late February and early March for anyone interested in helping. This is a great opportunity for you and your friends to play lacrosse and see what the sport is all about. Join the fun and help grow the youth feeder system for the Lake Zurich High School boys’ lacrosse program. Please spread the word and share this letter with family, friends, and neighbors. Also, tell your friends that Lacrosse America will be holding a free Beginners lacrosse clinic on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at the new Lake Barrington Field House from 12:00 pm – 1:15 pm. No registration is necessary. (Equipment will be provided for the clinic only). And don’t forget to sign up for Lacrosse America’s 2nd Session of Indoor Lacrosse at the Lake Barrington Field House which starts February 1, 2009; register online now at www.lacrosseamerica.com. Or fax or mail the registration that is enclosed. For more lacrosse information or to volunteer to coach, please contact me at dkintzer@lzlacrosseclub.com or 847.726.7153. Also, visit our website at www.lzlacrosseclub.com for more information about the Lake Zurich Lacrosse Club and the lacrosse programs offered to boys and girls. Best lacrosse regards, Dave Kintzer |

2009 Girls Youth Spring League
Girls’ Youth Lacrosse League January 4, 2009 Dear Lake Zurich Student: Welcometo the Lake Zurich Lacrosse Club! The Lacrosse Club was established in 2002 to develop, support, and promote the sport of lacrosse in the Lake Zurich area as well as provide Lake Zurich High School (LZHS) students with the opportunity to play competitive lacrosse at the high school level. In the spring of 2008, we started the girls’ youth feeder system for the LZHS girls’ lacrosse program. We had a great start with three teams and 57 girls in 4th through 8th grade participate in the spring lacrosse league. We are very excited to announce that we are expandingthe Lake Zurich spring lacrosse program to include girls in 3rd through 8th grade. We will participate in the Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association’s (IGLA) Spring 2009 Lacrosse League. This league is managed by IGLA, which is a not for profit organization solely dedicated to providing lacrosse camps and leagues for girls in Illinois; visit www.iglax.org for more information. This program will focus on individual skill development, team concepts, game situation drills, and learning the rules of the game for beginners to experienced players. There are 25 participating locations that make up the north, west, and northwest leagues. The Northwest league consists of four communities: Barrington, Libertyville, Vernon Hills, and Lake Zurich. The 2nd annual IGLA Youth Festival will be held on June 14th. All leagues will be represented and players will have the chance to play against other teams from the north and westleagues. Practices will be at various fields in Lake Zurich and home games will be in Lake Zurich or a nearby IGLA community. Practice starts the week ofApril 27th and the program will run through June 14, 2009. There will be two practices per week on either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM and games will be played on Sunday afternoons. Each team will play approximately 3 home games and 3 away games with the season-ending youth festival. The league fee is estimated to be $150.00 per player. Each player will need a lacrosse stick, eye protection, and a mouthguard. Information on purchasing equipment at www.qclax.com can be found at www.iglax.org. Registration begins March 1, 2009. Register online or mail in options are available at www.iglax.org. We need volunteer coaches! With the rapid expansion of lacrosse, we will need the help of coaches for each team. An IGLA and or LZHS coach will be at each practice and game to help with instruction, so a lacrosse background is not as important as the enthusiasm and leadership needed to coach. If you have any coaching experience, it is an easy transition to lacrosse. We are here to help you and train you in this exciting sport! For more information or to volunteer to coach, please contact info@iglax.org. Also, visit our website at www.lzlacrosseclub.com for more information about the Lake Zurich Lacrosse Club. Play lacrosse this winter! For winter ‘09 indoor opportunities at KITS in LakeZurich (starts Sunday, 1/11) or Libertyville Sportsplex in Libertyville (starts Saturday, 1/10) with Lakeshore Lacrosse, visit www.lakeshorelacrosse.com.
