Fall '10 Online Registration

Online registation is now open for LYSA's Fall 2010 season.  We recently found out that LYSA had 713 players sign up for soccer last year.  Can we make it to 1,000?  Only with your help!

Let us know if you are interested in helping this season. We need a Field Coordinator for each age group.  This position will be responsible for keeping the coaches, parents, and players informed about what is going on in LYSA.  We need people to help with the upkeep of the fields. We need team sponsors again for $100 per team (your name on the shirts)!

Be watching for more great things this season.  Let us know what you think on Face Book.

HELP...I Volunteered to Coach Soccer!

A good Link to some good information!

I was surfing the STYA Web Site when I found a link to their parent organization United States Youth Soccer (USYS). Unlike STYSA their website is fairly well organized and easy to use.  Near the top under the logo are links to different sections (coaches, parents, players, etc).  This looks like a good site to get current information about soccer in America, including rules of play and instruction (with some video).

This link: http://www.usyouthsoccer.org/coaches/Help_Volunteered.asp will take you to a page on coaching. I took just a quick look and saw info on not only coaching but team management & disciple also.  There were links to several pages of info.

Also remember if you are planning to coach for more than one year you MUST be certified.  This is just a class on how to coach and gives drills for you to use.  We will schedule a class as needed. But the class is taught by STYSA so we can only offer it at their times (once a season, maybe).  So let us know if you are interested. The cost is $40 but you only have to do the class once not yearly.
