Youth First, Sport Second
"YOUTH FIRST, SPORT SECOND" IS OUR MOTTO.
LYF&C WAS FORMED MORE THAN 30 YEARS AGO TO GIVE THE YOUTH OF LIVERMORE AN OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN DISCIPLINE, PERSEVERANCE, TEAM SKILLS AND SPORTSMANSHIP THROUGH FOOTBALL AND CHEERLEADING. A YOUTH SPORT IS ONE OF THE MOST VALUABLE TOOLS FOR BUILDING CHARACTER IN OUR CHILDREN.
-
We work together with the High School to ensure our participants are prepared for their very competitive football and cheer programs.
-
All of our coaches are experienced, NYFC certified, and attend clinics to strengthen their knowledge
-
Many of our coaches have been part of our league for several years and have made championship teams
-
We belong to the well known Diablo Valley Youth Football Conference
-
We have had at least two of our teams in the play-offs and one team has made it to the championship "Turkey Bowl" four consecutive years in a row.
-
Our cheerleaders consistently take home trophies year after year
-
All of our cheerleaders who go on to try-out at the High School, level make the team
LYFC is a family and creates a lifetime of memories
Livermore Youth Football and Cheer is a full contact football league that has been very successful for more than 30 years. We strive on teaching the fundamentals of both football and cheer that are needed to make the transition into High School as rewarding & as smooth as possible.
Livermore Youth Football & Cheerleading (LYF&C) is a fundamental instruction program of full contact tackle football and cheerleading. The specific objective of the program is to familiarize participants with the basics of football & cheerleading, and to provide the opportunity to participate in a structured, supervised and safe environment. LYF&C fields five football teams of children 7 to 14 years of age and five cheerleading squads of children 5 to 14 years of age. Each participant must have a physical exam and must submit an LYF&C physical form signed by a physician prior to the start of try-outs. Cheer try-outs begin in the April/May time-frame (dates to be determined) and football try-outs begin August 1st. Each football participant is required to put in a minimum of 10 hours of conditioning before they can participate in contact drills. There is a maximum limit of players per team, 35 football players and 20 cheerleaders, due to safety and minimum play requirements by the DVYFC conference, which creates the possibility of cuts.
