2006 Season

September 21, 2006 – Congratulations to Alex Collins and Megan Murnane for setting new school records for Lenape at Jefferson. Both Alex and Megan ran their all-time best 5K race while setting the new school records for the boys and girls Cross Country teams.

September 23, 2006 – Congratulations to the following members of the boys Cross Country team for their medal-winning place finishes at the Passaic County Coaches Cross Country Invitational on Saturday 9/23. In the Boys Varsity Group 2 race of 100 runners Alex Collins was 18^th, Ben Crater was 30^th, and Jack Marron was 33^rd. Fantastic racing guys!!!

September 23, 2006 – Congratulations to the following members of the girls Cross Country team for their medal-winning place finishes at the Passaic County Coaches Cross Country Invitational on Saturday 9/23. In the Girls Freshman race, Veronica Glasson was 15^th. Megan Murnane placed 8^th in the Girls Varsity Group 2 race of 94 runners – Megan also broke the school record by 2 ½ minutes. Megan’s finishing time of 21:00 is the Best Time Ever run at Garrett Mountain for the Lenape Valley Girls Cross Country program.

September 26, 2006 – The Girls Cross Country team posted an AWESOME VICTORY against Vernon at Pope John on 9/26 by a 1-2 finish with Megan Murnane and Lesli Loschiavo. Superb “Pack Running” by Addie Rice, Veronica Glasson, and Kelly Giacomaro decided the 26-29  victory for Lenape. Special congratulations is also extended to Megan Murnane for posting the Fastest Time Ever run by a Lenape Valley Girl Cross Country runner @19:40 for a 3 mile run. FANTASTIC VICTORY BY ALL GIRLS!

September 29, 2006 –Congratulations to the Girls Cross Country team members for the “Double Victories” over Sussex Tech and Morris Tech in a tri-meet on 9/29. The girls took all top-5 place finishes against Morris Tech and they also took 5 of the top-7 place finishes against Sussex Tech. Megan Murnane also set a New School Record for Lenape on Sussex Tech’s course as she won the race.

September 29, 2006 – Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team members for their “Double Victories” over Sussex Tech and Morris Tech in a tri-meet on 9/29. The boys took all top-5 place finishes against Morris Tech and they also took 5 of the top-7 place finishes against Sussex Tech. Alex Collins was the Overall Winner of the race and he set a New School Record for Lenape on Sussex Tech’s course.

October 3, 2006 – Congratulations to Megan Murnane for breaking her own school record on Lenape’s Home Course by 1:00 minute, during a Cross Country meet against High Point on 10/3.

October 7, 2006 – Congratulations to Alex Collins for his excellent place finish in the Shore Coaches Cross Country Invitational held at Holmdel Park on Saturday 10/7. Alex placed 63^rd out of 212 runners. Alex’s finishing time of 18:21 is the 3^rd Best Time Ever Run at this invitational in the history of the Boys Cross Country program. FANTASTIC RACE, ALEX!

October 7, 2006 – Congratulations to the following members of the Girls Cross Country team for their award-winning performances in the Shore Coaches Cross Country Invitational held at Holmdel Park on Saturday 10/7.

1.     Veronica Glasson received a medal for her 24^th place finish in the Girls Freshman Race. Veronica also broke the school record for this race by 2 minutes and 42 seconds. TREMENDOUS RACE, VERONICA!

2.     Megan Murnane was awarded a plaque for her outstanding 5^th place finish out of 164 runners in the Girls Varsity race. Megan broke her own school record (set last year) by 2 minutes and 5 seconds with her finishing time of 20:19. AN AMAZING RACE, MEGAN!

October 10, 2006 – Congratulations to Alex Collins and Megan Murnane for setting New School Records on Sparta’s Course on 10/10. Alex broke the boys school record by 1 minute. Megan Murnane broke her own school record from last year by 2 ½ minutes. Great racing Alex and Megan!

October 12, 2006 – Congratulations to the Boys Cross Country team for their victory over Hackettstown on 10/12. The boys took 4 of the top-5 place finishes with Alex Collins, Ben Crater, Jack Marron, and Alex Seiler. Nick Getto and Cody Berkefeld were the 8^th and 9^th place displacement scorers for Lenape. GREAT JOB GUYS!

Congratulations are also extended to Blaise Sica and Justin Hunts for running their all-time best races. Special congratulations to Alex Collins for being only the 4^th boy ever at LVR to run a sub 17:00 minute 5K race.

October 12, 2006 – Congratulations to the Girls Cross Country team for their victory over Hackettstown on 10/12. Megan Murnane, Lesli Loschiavo, Addie Rice, Veronica Glasson and Kelly Giacomaro posted an outstanding sweep of the Top-5 Place Finishes to register a SHUT-OUT Score of 15 points. Courtney Schmidt and Erin Moore completed Lenape’s scoring as displacement finishers 7^th & 10^th. Special congrats to Megan for breaking her own school record on the home course.

October 13, 2006 – Megan Murnane has been recognized by the Star Ledger as one of the TOP-10 runners in the State of New Jersey for Group 2 Girls Running Cross Country. FANTASTIC, MEGAN.

October 16, 2006 – Congratulations to the following members of the Boys Cross Country team for their awesome victory over Newton on 10/16. Alex Collins won the race while Jack Marron & Ben Crater ran ALL-TIME Best 5K’s as they took 3^rd and 4^th place finishes. Alex Seiler and Nick Getto completed the scoring with their super 8^th & 9^th place finishes. Kenny Natelli & Justin Hunts also ran their ALL-TIME Best 5K’s. GREAT TEAM VICTORY – Guys!

October 16, 2006 – Congratulations to the following members of the Girls Cross Country team for their amazing race to victory on 10/16 over Newton. Megan Murnane won the race while Lesli Loschiavo battled to secure a 3^rd place finish. Veronica Glasson, Addie Rice, and Courtney Schmidt ran a superb 16 second “Pack Attack” to insure victory with their 5^th, 6^th, & 7^th place finishes. Erin Moore ran her ALL-TIME BEST 5K along with Lesli, Veronica, & Courtney. FANTASTIC TEAM VICTORY – Girls!

October 21, 2006 – Congratulations to the following members of the Boys Cross Country team for their outstanding performances in the SCIL FESTIVAL held at the Sussex County Fairgrounds on 10/21.

1.     Alex Collins broke the school record in the Boys Varsity Race by 1 minute and 32 seconds with his finishing time of 16:57. Alex is only the 2^nd runner in the History of the Boys Cross Country program to ever run a sub 17:00 minutes at the Fairgrounds. EXCELLENT run Alex.

2.     Kenny Natelli ran his ALL-TIME BEST 5K race in the Boys Varsity race and Justin Hunts ran his ALL-TIME BEST 5K in the Boys JV race. Sean McNeilly also ran his ALL-TIME BEST for 2 miles in the Freshman Boys race. GREAT JOB, GUYS!

October 21, 2006 – Congratulations to the following members of the Girls Cross Country team for their outstanding performances in the SCIL FESTIVAL held at the Sussex County Fairgrounds on 10/21.

1.     Megan Murnane was a 7^th place medal-winner in the Girls Varsity race. Megan broke her own school record (from last year) by 1 minute and 6 seconds with her ALL-TIME BEST 5K finishing time of 19:24. Megan’s time is the BEST TIME EVER RUN at the fairgrounds in the history of the Girls Cross Country Program. SUPER RACE MEGAN!

2.     Veronica Glasson was a 6^th place medal-winner in the Girls Frosh Race with her ALL-TIME BEST 2 mile finishing time of 14:19. Rebecca Moore also ran her ALL-TIME BEST 2 miles in the Girls Frosh Race. WONDERFUL RUN GIRLS!

October 30, 2006 – Congratulations to the Boys & Girls Cross Country teams for the “Double Victory” over Warren Tech on 10/30. The boys team was led by Alex Collins and Jack Marron finishing 1^st & 2^nd; Alex Seiler & Cody Berkefeld securing 6^th & 7^th places and Kenny Natelli’s completing LVR’s scoring with a 10^th place finish. VERY IMPRESSIVE WIN, GUYS!

The Girls team was led by Megan Murnane who set a NEW SCHOOL RECORD for LVR on Warren Tech’s course. Lesli Loschiavo, Addie Rice, Veronica Glasson & Kelly Giacomaro added to Lenape’s victory by taking 4 of the TOP-6 Place Finishes. Courtney Schmidt, Rebecca Moore and Erin Moore completed the scoring by their Top-12 Finishes. SMART RACING FOR THE WIN, GIRLS!

November 2, 2006 – Congratulations to Megan Murnane for being selected to the ALL-LEAGUE SCIL GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM on 11/1. Lesli Loschiavo received an Honorable Mention and Alex Collins and Jack Marron were given Honorable Mention for the Boys Team.

November 4, 2006 – Congratulations to Alex Collins for his 16^th place finish out of 132 runners in the State Sectional Cross Country Meet on 11/4/06. Alex’s finishing time of 17:47 was the 4^th best time run at Garrett Mountain by a member of LVR’s Boys Cross Country Program. Alex is 1 of only 4 runners to ever run under 18 minutes at Garrett Mountain for Lenape. Also congratulations to Megan Murnane for her 7^th place finish at the State Sectional Cross Country Meet on 11/4/06. Megan set a New School Record with her finishing time of 20:37 and qualified for the Group 2 State Championship meet to be held at Holmdel this coming Saturday. Megan is the only girl from LVR to ever run under 21 minutes at Garrett Mountain. Congratulations to the following members of the Girls Cross Country team for setting a new school record for team average time at the State Sectional meet on 11/4/06. Megan Murnane, Lesli Loschiavo, Kelly Giacomaro, Veronica Glasson and Addie Rice combined for a team average time of 23:42:89setting a new standard for Lenape Valley Girls Cross Country at Garrett Mountain.

November 11, 2006 – Congratulations to Megan Murnane for setting a new school record for LVR in the Girls Group 2 State Championship Cross Country meet on 7/11/06 at Holmdel. Megan finished 19^th out of 134 runners in 21:10. Great Season Megan!!
