LYNN VALLEY 9 YEAR OLD
CANADA DAY TOURNAMENT
JUNE 28TH <>JULY 2ND
The Lynn Valley 9 Year Olds Invitational Tournament was held over the Canada Day weekend from June 28 to July 2, 2007 at Kilmer Park. Teams entered included Lynn Valley, Cypress Park, North Van Central, Hastings,
Mount Seymour, Forest Hills, Coquitlam, and Little Mountain. For most of the weekend, the Tournament had fantastic weather, and excellent
baseball was played on the Kilmer Park fields.

The Canada Day Ceremony and the Skills Competition held on Sunday, July 1 was a highlight to watch all the teams get together and cheer on their representatives. We even had a wonderful rendition of O Canada by
Sharon Ong.

The Sunday afternoon games saw four teams with 2-0 records face off to determine who would meet in the Championship Final. Little Mountain defeated Mount Seymour in a one run game, and Hastings beat the host Lynn Valley to gain the other berth in the final.

The final was a well-played affair, with Hastings jumping out to a 5-2 lead in the first inning. However, Little Mountain shut the door after
the first inning and came back to win 11-6. Congratulations to Little Mountain.

Thank you to all players, coaches, and parents who came out to support the Tournament. A huge thank you to all the Lynn Valley parents and volunteers who organized the games, prepared the fields, ran the concession, and performed other duties that made for a successful tournament.

We look forward to seeing everyone next year.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE PIRATES ON WINNING THE 2007 AMERICAN PLAYOFFS

On Thursday evening the LVLL board hosted an appreciation evening for all those coaches and volunteers that contributed their time and efforts for the 2007 season.  The event was held at the Legion in Lynn Valley.  A good time was had by all that attended. Congratulations to Bill Kingdon (Jr. coach) who won Canuck tickets and Bob McKeachie (Majors coach)who won a give certificate to the Black Bear.

WERE HONORED WITH APPRECIATION AWARDS FOR THEIR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE LYNN VALLEY BOARD OF DIRECTORS.  THESE THREE WILL BE LEAVING THE BOARD AND WE THANK THEM FOR THEIR TIME AND EFFORTS OVER THE YEARS.
