YOU MAKE THE CALL

Luray Little League is currently in search of volunteer umpires. Often viewed as an undesireable job, I have found it very rewarding. Although overlooked by many, solid officiating is key to a successfull season. To have a good supply of umpires will help make a league run smoothly. It really is frustrating when players, coaches and fans go to a game, only to find no umpire. This is your chance to help prevent that. Whether or not you have umped before or your a rookie you can help. Luray Little League has a good core group of umpires, but it gets strecthed very thin. Thats why we need help and I am asking you to join our team. Training, resources and advice are readily avaliable, so you will not be on your own. Help protect the integrity of this great game. Anyone intrested please contact ;    Patrick Reed  (540) 743-1754 or (540) 244-0426

You may just hear GOOD CALL BLUE!!!!!

"OPTIC YELLOW" ADDED TO PROHIBITED GLOVE COLORS

Players and parents please be aware of rules concerning equipment before purchasing. Per Rule 1.15 (a)  The pitcher's glove shall be of one solid color other than WHITE, GRAY, OR OPTIC YELLOW, or if multi-clored, WHITE, GRAY OR OPTIC YELLOW shall not be included in the colors. A glove that is judged to be distracting is illegal. This rule includes Minor League and up divisions of play.

The are also some division specific rules regarding bat diameter, BPF, and weight to length ratio. Stickers or painting on helmets should checked into BEFORE decorating your helmet as well. Little League is first and foremost concerned with the safety of the children. So parents please do your homework and be aware of the rules before you purchase a piece of equipment your child cannot use.
