~~~STRIKE OUT AUTISM~~~ 1 in 128 Children in Indiana are affected by Autism What is “Strike Out Autism”? The purpose of “Strike Out Autism” is to engage the Bishop Luers Baseball team to raise awareness and assist the needs of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (“Autism” or “ASD”) and their families through fundraisers and the buddy program in Fort Wayne. You can make a difference! Are you interested in making a difference in our community? How can you assist this program? Consider the possibilites that would be available with your pledge. We ask you to consider making a pledge for each game based on the performance of the Luers Baseball players. Strike Out Autism will split all donations evenly between the Autism Community Together (ACT) program and the Children's Autism Center (CAC). You will receive your pledge statement after every seven games and a statement for your tax purposes. Your kind generosity will be shared with current and alumni families of Bishop Luers High School in the following ways: * Knight Line (monthly Bishop Luers newsletter) * Sponsor listed with company website link on the Luers baseball website * Banner posted at every home Luers baseball game For more information on how your pledge will help these organizations visit their websites and read more about "Strike Out Autism" in our brochure. Autism Community Together (ACT) of Northeast Indiana -- www.ACTpositive.org Children's Autism Center (CAC) -- www.childrensautismcenter.org
*THE PLAYER & BUDDY RELATIONSHIP* We have developed a "buddy" program that allows our student athletes to interact with the children by attending the child's classroom, where they share in activities to benefit the children. In turn, the children are invited to attend Bishop Luers Baseball games where they will be able to enjoy themselves, and spend time with their "buddies". Pledge forms and the Strike Out Autism brochure can be found by using the link at the bottom of this page or by clicking on "Handouts".
