2007 16 - 18 LaPorte County Babe Ruth Try Outs
The LaPorte County Babe Ruth League will hold try outs for the 16 - 18 team on the following dates in June. Sunday June 3 1:00pm @ Clark Field in LaPorte. Also Wednesday June 6 6:30 pm @ Ron Reed Field. All player candidates must fill out a registration form. Only players making the squad will pay a one time fee of $100.00.
All LaPorte county residents within the age requirements are eligible, also players living within the New Prairie School District are eligible. For additional information contact the coaches for 2007. George Bevitori 879-4159; Honer Torres 324-6620.

MICHIGAN CITY LAKESHORE 14'S TAKE 1ST @ THE STEEL YARD
Michigan City LakeShore 14U entry took 1st place in Gary Mayor Scott Kings Steel Yard Classic hosted by The RailCats. LakeShore went 4-0 in the single elimination tournament held August 22 - August 26 at The U.S. Steel Yard. Home of the Northern Leagues Gary SouthShore RailCats. Wins were over Lowell, Lakes of the Four Seasons, Merrillville and Hobart in the Championship game.
LakeShore pitchers Kyle Federoff and Brock Kohler handled the bulk of the innings and finished up with 2 wins each.
Leading hitters during the tournament were: Jordan Hines 7 for 12 (.583), Greg Hines 7 for 13 (.538), Brock Kohler 5 for 11 (.454), Kyle Federoff 6 for 16 (.375) and Michael Arvin 5 for 15 (.333).
Also participating on the squad were Jack Bobillo, Eric Skwiat, Nico Bevitori, Mark Torres, Zack Osman, Mark Pytynia, Joe Bobillo and Josh Briggs.
The SteelYard win concludes a very succesfull season for this group. A
tournament record of 25 - 7 including a District Championship,Little League Junior Division Indiana State Championship, 1st Place S. E. Wisconson Sports Park, 1st Place SteelYard Classic; 2nd place at The Warsaw City of the Lakes Tournament, 2nd place at 4th Annual Doscill Tournament, Madison, Wisconsin.
