1st grade – 9th grade * (2009-10 School Year) One-Hand touch for all age groups. • 1st and 2nd grade will be Coach Quarterback and will allow rushing. • 3rd – 9th will be a kid quarterback, PASS ONLY league.
* 8th and 9th grade students can participate as long as they are not coached by a middle school or high school staff member. This must be followed or the players risk losing eligibility for the next football season. Even if the parent is not a football coach, but teaches in either the middle school or high school, they cannot coach the team.
9th grade students who are playing a springtime sport must fill out a Non-School Participation Form through the athletic director’s office. This form states that they are participating in an activity outside of the school as well as a school sponsored activity. This happens quite often.
The Lee's Summit Football Association was formed to give children in the City of Lee's Summit and/or the Lee's Summit R-7 School District an opportunity to learn and play tackle football. We are working with local high school football coaches to teach our coaches the latest and safest techniques, so our participants can feel comfortable they will have the proper fundamentals as they progress to higher levels.
