Aquafest Parade

Practice is underway for this year's Aquafest parade.  Practices are scheduled for July 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28 from 6-8 p.m. at the Lake Stevens High School baseball fields.

The parade is Saturday, July 30.  Check-in time is 11:30 a.m. at the Fire Station.

If you aren't able to be at the parade, your daughter may still participate in practice - but let the director know she won't be in the parade so they can adjust the lines. If you aren't able to make it to the practices but would still like to be in the parade - either coordinate with another cheerleader to learn the routine, or we can assign a spot where she won't be required to know it (like holding the sign, handing out information while walking, or a section that only walks). We would like to be able to involve everyone any way we can.

We will also need parent volunteers to help out in different areas - such as helping check in the girls as they arrive and checking them out after the parade, walking with the girls to keep them in line, helping with T-shirts, handing out information as we walk, etc. Please let us know if you can help.

For pracitce, have them wear comfortable weather appropriate clothing and comfortable tennis shoes...NO Sandles! Don't forget to bring a water bottle and wear sunscreen.

For the parade, they will need black shorts and comfortable white tennis shoes. They will receive their parade shirt and bow during the last practice.

Car Wash Fundraiser THIS SUNDAY!

The LSJAA Cheer fundraiser will be a car wash on this Sunday, August 23rd between the hours of 11 and 3 at Les Schwab near Frontier Village.  Please sign up for 1 or 2 hour shifts to work the car wash.  Email Sheri at LSJAACheer@aol.com with your preferred time. Once there are enough replies, we will start giving out assigned shifts.

It is important that we have as many of the Senior teams there and divided up evenly between the two shifts as we will need their help with the younger kids in each shift.

Any parents willing to stay to help would be great.

Supplies needed!!

We need people willing to donate or let us borrow some car washing supplies. We need sponges (for washing the cars), buffing cloths (to dry the cars that purchased the VIP tickets at the pre-sale) and a car scrub brush (to help with the wheels).  If anyone has a hose spigot splitter (not sure what they are called - but where you can attach 2 hoses to 1 spigot) that would be great, too.  Please let Sheri know what you have for us so we can figure out what else we still need.  Thank you!!!!!!!! We already have buckets, hoses, and soap.

What to wear:

We would like the girls to wear Parade wear....the Parade T-shirt and black shorts.  Please please please have the girls wear a tank top or another t-shirt underneath the cheer shirt or even a swimsuit. We don't care what color is under the t-shirt, but please just have them double layer.  They can wear sandals (probably would prefer it - as they WILL get wet).  Any other questions - please let us know.

Tuesday, July 28
Aquafest Parade Results

The girls did a fantastic job at the parade on Saturday!  So good, as a matter of fact, that we earned 2nd place in the parade for the cheerleader division!!!!!!!!!!!  Congratulations, we are so proud of you!

Thank you to all of the parents who volunteered and helped out with the practices and/or parade prep and walking.  You helped it all run so smoothly.

Monday, July 6
Car Wash Fundraiser

We will be doing a Car Wash Fundraiser to raise money for trophies at Les Schwab tires on Sunday August 23rd.  Time to be determined....but probably looking at starting at 10am.

On the weekends before the car wash we will be pre-selling carwash tickets in front of different grocery stores.  We still have to schedule those with the stores, so check back for times/dates.  We will need 3-4 girls per location per day for the pre-sale.

Monday, July 6
Aquafest Parade Practice Schedule

Practices for the Aquafest Parade are schedule for July 21, 22 and 23rd from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Lake Stevens High School softball fields (by the pool).  You will need to walk your daughter up to the fields to check them in and check them out again after practice.  Please do not just drop her off in the parking lot.  You are welcome to bring a chair or blanket and stay and watch

Have your daughter wear comfortable, weather appropriate clothing and tennis shoes. They will be standing and marching, in addition to learing a routine for the parade.  She should also bring a water bottle with her name clearly marked on it.

The Aquafest Parade is scheduled for Saturday, July 25th at 1:00 p.m.  We will meet in front of the Fire Station at 11:00 a.m. to get checked-in and ready for the parade.  Each girl will get a T-shirt to wear in the parade.  The girls will need to wear black shorts, white socks and comfortable white tennis shoes with their T-shirt (white tennis shoes are needed for games during football season also). More information regarding the day of the parage will be given out during practices.

Look for an e-vite coming soon for the parade. This will help us get us an accurate count for the parade.

Practice for football season will begin the week of August 17.
