DO YOU KNOW WHAT A "FULL PREKI" IS?
For those of you who want to see actual videos and graphics of skills and tactics to improve your game visit www.strongsoccer.com and pick one or two passes, turns, moves, shots, etc. to introduce into your repertoire of skills each week at practice. The Web site offers a large selection of visuals to show you how to execute specific skills. See something you like, memorize, practice it in your back yard, than come to practice and "school" your team mates on how to play the game. According to J.A. King, the author of the site, "You'll need one thousand 'reps' at home... another hundred tried in practice... to see just one on game day, under pressure." What is King saying about improving your game? Practice makes perfect! This is a great resource for seeing new skills and tactics to introduce into your game.

"MANY HANDS MAKE LIGHT WORK"...
is our team management style for the upcoming year. Terri Bartnicke is our team manager and for the most part will be our main contact for relevant team and club information. Ginger Fleming will be our treasurer while Chuck Bostwick will fulfill the role of webmaster. Chuck will need assistance in keeping the web-site up to date and is requesting parents to help in suppling photos of the team and games for posting on the site. Chuck also is looking for help in gathering this years game statistics so he can keep the teams performances up to date on the web-site. Periodically Chuck will need someone to fill in when he can't attend a match. Game summaries are written from the recorded game stats so he really appreciates the help when he is absent. The main concern is being able to identify who does what on the field amidst all the action. Chuck may be calling on all spectators to assist in getting the correct information so he'll need everyone to keep a sharp eye on the action. Thanks are in order for Joe and John stepping up to transport our team tents. This can be a cumbersome task so other volunteers are certainly appreciated to help with this responsibility. Whatever you can do to help serve our team will be greatly appreciated this season. Thanks to all of you for your help this year.

SKILLS & DRILLS IS A HELPFUL WAY TO GET A LEG UP ON THE COMPETITION
Skills & Drills are extra practice sessions available to all LRFC members and are designed to help club players further develop specific soccer skills. Sessions are free to all LRFC players. Though these practice sessions are not a mandatory requirement for team members, coaches strongly encourage their players to participate so they can refine their soccer skills and improve their game. If you haven't had a chance to attend a Skills & Drills practice session come with a team member and work on improving your skills together. Coaches believe the extra time spent on developing soccer skills played a big role in securing a record number of Arkansas State Champions and State runner-up teams at LRFC over the past few years. Lets keep up the winning tradition and prepare for another championship season. Skills & Drills will begin on Monday August 20th at Murry Park. Monday sessions will focus on skills for goalkeeping (6:30-7:30PM) and strikers and finishing (6:30-7:30PM) and Wednesday sessions beginning on August 22nd (4:30-6:00PM) will cover goalkeeping for goalies and (4:30-6:00PM) fundamental soccer skills for every other player position. See you at Skills & Drills!
