Schedule changes for Oct. 17
The weather for Saturday morning, while expected to be mostly sunny, is expected to be unusually cold for this time of year. Therefore, we will be shortening the Kindergarten/First Grade sessions to games only (no practice) and adjusting the schedule. At LaPorte, the schedule will be as follows:10 a.m. – Orange vs. Navy10:45 a.m. – Green vs. Yellow11:30 a.m. – Royal vs. Red At Wanatah, the schedule will be as follows:10 a.m. – White vs. Red10:45 a.m. – Purple vs. Green11:30 a.m. – Royal vs. Yellow
In the Second/Third Grade and Fourth/Fifth Grade divisions, games will proceed as scheduled. However, if the game-time temperature is 40 degrees or colder, games will be shortened by 5 minutes per half.
Also, please follow these guidelines for cold-weather games:
- Players should be encouraged to wear additional clothing, including jackets, sweatshirts, gloves, and especially stocking caps.
- Players should not sit or lie directly on the ground, as heat is lost faster to ground than air.
- Keep players hydrated and avoid caffeine drinks such as pop or coffee.
- Keep an eye on the goalie, as they are not running around and get coldest first.
