Spring Soccer registration begins Feb. 2
The LaPorte Family YMCA starts registration for its spring youth coed soccer program onn Monday, Feb. 2. Parents may register their child during any open hours at the front desk.
The program includes divisions for kindergarten/first grade, second/third grade and fourth/fifth grade. The kindergarten/first-grade division includes a weekly scrimmage preceded by half an hour of instruction. The second/third-grade division includes a weekly game and one weekday practice. The fourth/fifth-grade division includes a weekly game and two weekday practices.
The season begins with a skills clinic on Saturday, April 4. Practices start the week of April 6 and games begin Saturday, April 18, and run through Saturday, May 30.
The cost is $42 per child for YMCA members and $60 per child for non-members. All players receive a YMCA soccer t-shirt and awards.
The league needs coaches and referees for the upcoming season.
