Greyhounds Prepare for JMU
On November 4, the Greyhounds will travel south to James Madison University to play in their first tournament of the season. The JMU Fall Invitational is annually one of the best tournaments in the northeast region. Virginia, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, and George Mason are among the teams competing in the sixteen team tournament.
-The Hounds faced some great competition during this tournament. Although the record was not as impressive as hoped, the knowledge the team gained here will hopefully translate into victories during conference play.
The following Sunday, November 12, the Hounds traveled cross-town to play in their conference tournament. Loyola opened with an entertaining 2-0 victory of Johns Hopkins. Loyola then lost to Georgetown in a 3 game see-saw battle with the Hoyas pulling it out in the end. The Hounds ended their day with impressive victories over American University and the University of Maryland Baltimore County. With a 3-1 record the Greyhounds seemed poised to contend for a regular season championship to accompany their conference tournament championship from last season.
